Cynically speaking, Disney is an entity now, not just a movie production company, and they are deathly terrified of the mobilizing ability of bad reviews on social media and boycotts. Back when I was a kid, in the early 70s, you had newspaper, magazine and sometimes TV reviews, but most people didn't see those, they relied on word of mouth, so criticisms didn't reach the sorts of folks who would be upset over "violence" (among other issues) in a kids' movie. Now word of mouth is 1000s more mouths because of social media and it's easier for a few critical voices to reach many more ears. So Disney has "sanitized" their movies to appeal to a widened base of mediocrity and moral panic.

Absolutely agree with the Hoppers and Zootopia 2 movies being great! I cried with Hoppers at two scenes in that movie and laughed my ass off at the lizard scene. Great video and wish we got more villain death scenes in Disney (other than in the live action movies, which they are copying and pasting with minor changes).

And thus we reach Batman's dilemma with the Joker.

Personally; whilst seeing *some* types of villains be jailed is fine, not all of them can be safely stored and rehabilitated as their karmic retribution is to die. Assistant Mayor Bellweather is a "lesser" villain on the Wheel of Karma as whilst she was a criminal, she wasn't responsible for deaths and injuries of large populations, only a conspiracy that injured a dozen civilians in order to raise racial tensions (and even that was apparently puppeted by someone else). Compared to Syndrome - who was directly responsible for killing off a large number of (forcibly) retired superheroes in order to develop a super weapon that only he could control and "defeat" in order to gain glory to feed a wounded ego (from being a brat and fanatic as a kid), and unleashed said weapon in a populated city centre only to lose control of it and for it to be destroyed by the family he held captive. His Wheel of Karma ended up with him being sucked in to a jet engine by his own hubris of wearing a cape (which was known to kill other supers). Then there's the MCU (under Disney), where some villains die and others are jailed, depending on how many lives are risked or injured/killed. Justin Hammer was jailed for breaking free Ivan Vanko and having him build the Hammer Drones to try and show-up Tony, but as he wasn't responsible for any deaths (directly or indirectly) his Karma was based on freeing a captured criminal and *risking* the lives of those attending Stark Expo. Vanko himself was jailed after the Expo as whist the Drones he made *risked* lives of civilians none died, and he was only focused on trying to hurt Tony for the sins of Howard Stark. Meanwhile Obadiah Stane/Iron Monger's death at the hands of Tony & Pepper is his Karma for trying to kill Tony (via the Ten Rings) and having Tony's parents assassinated (see: Civil War), whilst also trying to weaponise a reverse-engineered version of the Mark 1 Iron Man suit (which was more a prototype than anything) as revenge for the blow to Stane's ego about Tony taking Stark Industries out of weapons production, as Stane was a War Monger (comic book name) using SI to prepare both sides of conflicts around the world.

Those are some really good examples of how these villains would fit into the criminal justice system. They draw a good line between retribution and possible rehabilitation.
