One film that I’ve seen a lot of audience members trash in recent years is “Incredibles 2.” I personally thought the film was better than the first movie. A lot of the hate comes from the belief that the film is exactly the same as the first movie, Mr. Incredible lost a lot of his character growth, and the generic plot twist villain bogged down the movie. But I personally disagree with all these points. I thought the film was quite different thanks to its focus on Elastigirl, and her trying to help legalize superheroes. And I believe Mr. Incredible’s kept his development from the first movie. The first film was about him learning the importance of having a family, while this film is about him learning how to be a good father. And I like some of the mature, vulnerable moments where he admits to not being able to get everything right, only for Violet to assure him he doesn’t have to be. While some might say the scenes with Jack-Jack take away from this, I personally thought the Jack-Jack provided just enough humor to not fully detract from the story whilst intercutting the serious scenes with some lighthearted moments. And finally, the twist villain. I consider Screenslaver to be one of Pixar’s best villains. I thought their persona was quite chilling, but their beliefs were sound with regards to them comparing supers to commercialization and cellphone usage. Most people tended to hate them because they were a twist villain, but I believe fans only hated Screenslaver because they were sour from the overuse of twist villains from previous animated films like “Zootopia” and “Frozen.” But compared to those two, I believe Screenslaver’s motivations actually had some bite to them, and the twist came early enough in the film so that it felt warranted rather than suddenly appearing out of nowhere. So with all that in mind, I consider Incredibles 2 to be a solid, fun, and action-packed thrill ride you won’t regret watching.
I liked Incredibles 2 as well. The screenslaver plot was so chilling 😅 So dang effectively zombified all the Incredibles and everyone around. The good character dynamics are still there and I would say I enjoyed it just as much as the original as well.
Dinosaur was the only one I've seen. It was beautiful but the story did drag and if I remember correctly, the romance didnt land for me.
Is one of the Lego Movie 2? Because I didn’t like it.
Oh? That's fair. I'd be curious to learn why. It was hard to get a straight answer out of audience reviews 😄
Storm is so cute
Interesting video as always Strider!
