Early main vid - Worst & "Best" Disney Live Action Remakes (Ad-free Patron version)
Howdy boss 😀 My first error: That part at the beginning should be CRITIC scores😆 Will fix it in the final version. Regardless, what would you choose for the "best" and worst of these Disney remakes? Wishing you have a pleasant weekend 🙂

Love it ❤️
I really enjoyed hearing your take on the live action remakes. I haven't watched any of them since Beauty and the Beast, which is a guilty pleasure of mine. Hearing your thoughts on Snow White, I may actually give it a watch. We are doing great by the way. Just crazy busy. Dalton says hi! Great video as always. Always love a good crossover with you and Nostalgia Critic.
I got to give Mufasa credit for using THREE primary colors instead of TWO!
As I recall, there was another Disney live-action remake that got a lot of dislike amongst the fandom. In fact, I believe Nostalgia Critic actually reviewed it a few years ago. The live-action Kim Possible movie. I recall seeing it and thought it was an extremely poor attempt at replicating the cartoon series. I was wondering why you didn't incorporate it onto your list?
I'm one who went into Aladdin, my favorite Renaissance animated movie, expecting to HATE it and surprisingly found it wasn't bad at all. I did like the change to the Sultan and was SO glad that Will Smith didn't attempt to "channel" Robin Williams. I liked that Jasmine was a "do things" character instead of a "things done to her" character as in the animated movie.
My favorite was Alice in Wonderland. I agree with not putting it on this list. It was, after all, a sequel. Not a remake.
"In Western Arabia, born to raised, in the lamp where I spent most of my days." Blame the Gregory Brothers for that one, not me 😆
I think Isaac Carlson talked about Dopey's muteness in a video once. Or was it the SuperCarlinBrothers? Well, somebody addressed it before.
"Every time that I farted" Was that a nod to when they had to censor "farted" in the first one?
Love this video! Will say my favorite Live Action take was The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Maleficen, and Aladdin since they had the most charm and energy to them. It felt thrilling and beautiful to watch. However, I didn’t like the Snow White Remake since it lacked a lot of that empowerment they were trying to go for but I do agree that the color visuals and animals were some of the better takes that Disney had done as it was warm and inviting. While some of the songs did stand out for me, most of them didn’t and I hate All is Fair as it felt clunky. I also did a review about this movie on my Tumblr page.
If Mulan already wasn't bad enough, the credits paid tribute to the authorities in Xinjiang, where the government oppresses the Uyghur Muslims.
I am wondering if this might be the fall of Rome for Disney, unless they get themselves another Renaissance they may end up just closing the vault forever
Good question. I think for audiences, many enjoy them. Even if critics tend to pan them. So I think in a critical eye, Disney's lost reputation. But overall, audiences mostly still seem happy :)
I like seeing you and Doug play Good Cop/Bad Cop with these remakes.
Love the video!! For your personal enjoyment I highly recommend watching the 2015 remake of Cinderella if you haven’t already. It does a really good job of expanding meaningfully on the original
Good choice! I actually did a review of that one in the script but it was cut due to time constraints 😆 I found the movie really switched on for me at the ball. So many beautiful visual aesthetic to it.
