Howdy boss 🙂 This one was most requested by members while the candy one was most requested here so I wanted to offer both 😄 Hope you have a pleasant new year 🍧🍨🍦 Be safe!

I’m completely supportive for your life choices, no matter what they are. While I also happen to personally share it, I am just so appreciative of this community that you foster…for this safe space for us all to be ourselves and that everyone here is respectful of each individual’s life choices. Much love to all, and thanks!!
Late comment, I know, but I’m single, childfree and I’m happy with that. I just don’t have the patience to deal with kids, especially toddlers. I can barely handle it when my brother’s oldest daughter who is 2 has these awful tantrums. I’m better off being just an uncle and nothing more. Maybe someday I’d like to find a woman I can settle down with and hopefully said woman would be childfree like myself.
I totally get that. The sensory hit from screaming is what I really struggle with in kids 😆 And absolutely :) She's out there for you! Nin and I recommend local meetup groups or local facebook singles groups as that's how we met 🙂
TWO OF US! TWO OF US! I'm always over the moon to hear that a creator, etc. I like is childfree (CF) like I am so to hear that you two are CF just absolutely made my day today! :D Thank you so much for making a video about this! :D
Just to clarify, Shadow is absolutely our baby and he knows it 😆 But on a serious note, thanks everyone for your words and comments on this. For me personally, I've had a lot of personal choice go into my decision to not have kids and honestly I've thought about it a lot. At some points I may have wanted kids, but the thought was always fleeting. I just remember always saying to myself if I do have kids I wanted them young.. and even then I gave myself a cut off age of 35 to have kids.. and even THEN I dreaded the thought of having kids.. so I guess I always knew somewhere deep down I didn't really want kids.. I just remember the fist time Josh said he didn't want kids, the relief I felt was immense.. it just really made me feel I loved him more because he was on the same page as I was 😀
I feel like Shadow kept trying to argue that you guys aren't child free -- Shadow IS the child!! In all seriousness, I really like you guys' story. You guys are around the age *my* parents were when they had me, so I'm glad to see child free people of your age to look up to. I'm 22, single, and gray-ace and I've already gotten flak for wanting to be child free at my age, especially from my mom. She says that no man would ever want me because I don't want kids (I'm bi anyways, but she doesn't know that I am lol), which I think is really messed up... and kinda wrong, anyways, since you two are a couple who are willingly child free.
Hiya Dolly! I'm so sorry your mum would say that. As you said, that's absolutely messed up and absolutely wrong. As with Nin and I and many people, it would've been a deal-breaker if either of us had wanted kids. I think it's just a matter of finding that right person 🙂 Thanks for the perspective!
Thanks so much for this Josh, it's a great look into you and Nin's lives. Happy Holidays to you and everyone here! Happy New Year as well!
As somebody who tends to enjoy beeing single and childfree i totally respect youre desision and i thank you for discussing the topic 😊. The traditional type of lifestyle isn't for everybody after all and i wish more people just respected that 😅.
As someone who doesn't want kids, I appreciate you Strider and Nin for bringing up this discussion about why it's okay to be child free. Though personally, I take it a step further as someone who's an anti-natalist (against anyone having children), but those beliefs are mostly rooted in the idea that the world will do children more harm than good, though I understand not everyone agrees with that, so I don't push those beliefs on anyone else (unlike some people who try to push having kids onto others). I will say that I do personally think having children is more selfish than not, because in my eyes you are essentially dumping all of the world's problems onto your kids without their consent, and exposing your child to the wonders and dangers of the world is YOUR decision, not theirs, regardless if they like it or not. I have grown to love the people that are already with me in the world that already need help and support, rather than to create someone who didn't need anything to begin with. And if you do want to raise children, there's always the option to adopt someone.
Totally understand you two not wanting kids. I would love to have kids someday, but it has to be with the right person.
Having kids in this economy? No way. On a serious note, I have a lot of auditory issues connected to my autism and I can't handle loud crying and tantrums and I have enough trouble taking care of myself. Having a child would be irresponsible of me. And I'm ace. x.x
I'm autistic to and i'm AroAce, i know It's still possible for some but i enjoy beeing single and childfree as i do need a lot of alone time. And yeh those exact same things you mentiond bother me so much as well + the high pitch voices of kids can be anoying to me in general as well 😵💫 so i totally get you 😊.
I understand completely man. I don’t ever want kids for so many reasons. Not every couple needs kids. It’s just crazy not everyone knows that.
I know the question occasionally pops up in people's minds, but who would have thought that'd be the most selected option on YouTube?
I can actually believe it! It's becoming a LOT more popular and possible to deliberately never have children, and especially since JD Vance, Elon Musk, etc. have made such a huge public stink over "childless cat ladies" and the like it's only become much more of a common curiosity to hear about real childfree people and why we're childfree!
Not everyone is suited to have kids, it's a big decision and you're 100% right - no kid should be born just to be expected to care for their parents when they get old! That should be their choice if they WANT to take care of their parents. I was lucky in that no one made me feel bad for not wanting children. Even before I had a certain necessary surgery that meant I CAN'T have kids anymore, I just. Didn't want to have babies. They're a lot of work and being a parent would make my anxiety worse! (Heck, I only have a fur baby and I get anxious about her. More than once she's decided to hide somewhere and make me worry she got outside. Cats, man.) Plus my sister wanted children when she grew up and has two of them. And they're adorable.
After I became an aunt to two nieces I decided mentally I couldn't handle the idea of kids nor financially. I respect your decision
Nin being an aunt helped alot with her decision too 🙂 She kinda gets her fill with her niece and nephew. Respects on your decision too
