Locker room talk
Over 2 million people fleeing from russian bombs have now crossed the borders of Poland, we expect a lot more, over 10 million displaced in Ukraine. My daughter has 3 new colleagues in her class at school, just a month ago they were living ordinary lives hundreds of miles away in Ukraine, now they're starting anew here. It's surreal, a few days ago I helped delivering some warm clothes and blankets to somebody who took them to Ukraine to hand it to soldiers at the front line. This war needs to stop and I want to see Putin at the end of a rope.
New batch of supportless miniatures in the Repository:
- 3 human soldiers: 2 swordsmen and a hireling with torch and bow. The latter is also on Thingiverse and Prusaprinters.
- an elven barmaid, ready to counter any sexist talk with a well aimed heavy mug.
Thank you for your support!
Next: Other races and creatures.

"It was not the first day the uncouth foreign soldiers had come to her tavern and caused trouble since the invasion, but today would be the last. The poor quality swill they guzzled was, unsurprisingly, quite flammable, and Celia prepared to douse them with a tankard of it to conveniently be lit ablaze by the hireling's burning torch... barbeque was definitely on the menu for the next business day." Excellent work on my request, she's lovely and has a good, dynamic pose that gives her a lot more life than just standing there holding out a tankard. She'll be my first print to test out my new resin setup in our new house, which finally has a garage where I can set it up without a lot of sunlight exposure or putting fumes in the house. You also sweetened it perfectly with the addition of more soldiers: as I've posted before I particularly love your soldiers and these will be excellent additions.
That elf female barmaid I am soooo printing that out.. I have a painting party this weekend I think I might print her and paint her for it
And yes that would a great day to see him on the end of the rope.
Keep your head up. And thank you for all you are doing. Makes me happy to know we are supporting a great company who is going the extra mile for man kind.
Silly question out of curiousity. I am not a designer of 3d anything, in fact I can't even draw a cube to scale in most programs I have touched. So, here is the silly question. There is a big difference in file size among creators that have similar sized and detailed figures. Is that a matter of program being used or settings? I know in Photoshop there is a "flatten" feature that removes any background information that is not needed to reduce file size. Is that type of feature available in 3d software?
An STL file is just a list of all of the normals and vertices. So the more detailed/faces your model has the more that is needed to be written to the file.
