February post No. 1

My brain is out of creative spirit right now, so no short silly story accompanying this release. But I have a competition for you - write a short, one paragraph (max 3-4 sentences) story in the comments including all these four characters and add a fifth of your choice, and in one week I'll pick one story I fancy the most and will turn that fifth character into a mini in releases later this month.

So here are more supportless minis for you based on your suggestions:

- MOAR PIGFACE archer

- paladin/crusader on foot

- flameskull

- rogue/thief

Get them in the repository (new link!), the crusader goes to Thingiverse and PrusaPrinters.

Thank you for your support!

next: Moar picks from your suggestions.

The Nozzle is knocking the print off of the build plate. I keep adjusting but cant seem to get it right. Never happened before with any of your prints. I am sure it is not an issue with the file.

With or without base? Are you using a brim/raft? What kind of plate (glass/flex/etc)? What speed are you printing at? What is your travel speed? Sorry for so many questions. There are so many things that can cause this. If the entire print is coming off of the plate, there might be bad bed adhesion (maybe try a brim or a raft). Another way around this is to turn on Z-hop (this will lift the nozzle before a travel, but might cause extra stringing).

Anyone else having issues with the Orc Archer?

Ever since Grimaldus' ill fated first encounter with the mage, the flaming skull had hovered just over his shoulder, reminding him of his various failings. Despite spitting the offended mage with his blessed sword, its seemed that the curse that had birthed the skull was not so easily extinguished. His companions, Felix the Shadowed rogue and Wong Fei Hung the monk of the Iron Fist, had insisted on ranging ahead and eliminating the Orc scouts without him as "that spiteful head is likely to whisper exactly where we are."

Grimaldus, the man himself. I play a Paladin styled after the Black Templars, and he recently had a mask fashioned after Grimaldus's helmet.

Carl the Crusader had come to the realization that the crusade grindset was not what he expected. His plans of glory were immediately sabotaged when his purse, containing his letter of acceptance into a prestigious order, was stolen within seven seconds of stepping off the ship. In truth, the thief's job was probably made easier by Karl not being able to see particularly well through his helmet. The rather shapely elven barmaid had been remarkably resistant to his charms; asking for directions earned him a beer thrown in his face, which would surely rust his expensive gear. And now, try as he might, the sour-faced, porcine-looking nose-breather simply stared when he tried to inquire as to a strange sight. Who could blame the guy: Carl was a complete stranger babbling on about a fiery, angry-looking disembodied skull that apparently only he could see; must've been something in the water around these parts. Excellent work as always, BM! I have a thing in particular for your style of knights, always welcome in my collection, and now I have a nice hooded thief. I can always look forward to the bi-monthly goodies, it's one of the few treats I truly anticipate.

I am not much of a writer, but thought it was fun to try. Karl the paladin sitting on a log by the campfire looking at his buddy potch the rouge. “Hey potch what you got there?” asked Karl. “I don’t really know it’s a skull I grabbed off old man nar when he was asking us to get ride of the pig faced goons up yonder”. A few seconds later a pig faced tracker popped out of the woods and startled the would be adventures. Potch dropped the skull and once it hit the ground it came to life covered in flames. Once this happened everyone ran. While running Potch yelled to Karl “Not again!” Karl said “Wait this happened before?” to which potch replied. “Ummm I don’t really want to talk about it, but can’t you do some magic holy mumbo-jumbo to get it of it?”

As the black knight of Casalde, Boar of ember’s pass, and Jonathan came across their enemy, a strange feeling fell over them. They were not alone. As the flame skull came closer speaking words of magic, a tremble beneath the earth came closer. The rogue telling everyone to jump back as the flame skull jumped up. The purple worm angered by its loss of food turned to the boar, and dug. As the flame skull cast Hold Person the others watched in fear as the last of the Boar Archers of Flame Pass was devoured whole by what was about to become their end too.

The path to the demon king would be long and treacherous, the party facing his lesser spawn at every turn on the brimstone paved road to his obsidian castle. The flameskull that was now speeding towards them was not the first they had fought, and wouldn't be the last. "Join your brethren in oblivion!" shouted the paladin with a slash from his broadsword, glowing with a holy light. "Taste my arrow, fire-face!" cried the archer, with a snort, loosing one right through its misty form. "I tire of this." said the rogue from behind the choking flames of the creature, his quick stabs surely weakening it. Without a sound but a sizzle, the hellspawn was washed away by a rain cloud summoned above its head, Blossom, the little opossum-folk druid said nothing, her mouth agape in a wordless scream, pointing her walking stick where the fiend once was, and replacing her remaining components in her pouch. ~~~ Awesome work as always, Brite

I'm not a writer, but here we go... He knew. Gavriel the Gallant knew, as he left the range of the last Orc archer, his sneaking companion would be the end of him. "The stupid pig-faces won't even know we were there...a quick grab and go" Oscar had said. Gavriel only agreed to help the thief steal the infamous breeches of endowment because he thought it would win the favour of Selena, the Elven wizard who had recently joined up with them. He had thought things couldn't get much worse but, as he rounded the corner and saw the cause of the eerie, green glow, he knew Oscar had swindled him.

Barnabas the halfling didn't like the look of his situation one bit. Down in a dungeon with a crusader and a thief that trusted each other less than they trusted the orc archers raining arrows from the ledge above them. Barnabas raised his short sword pointing at large double doors and the would be adventurers ran to the double doors to pull them open, when a half dozen flameskulls spilled into the room. "Just our luck" said Barnabas, "stuck between an orc and a charred place."
