Nutcrackin'
When the Dwarven Engineers’ Guild was tasked with solving the growing rat infestation in the city sewers, they devised an automaton designed to neuter the male rodent population. This humane approach was requested by the Order of the Sisters of Mercy, who insisted that even vermin deserved a measure of dignity.
They didn’t expect that this would spark an underground rebellion, culminating in a final showdown between the Nutcracker and the Rat King. The latter fell, but not before striking the Dwarven construct hard enough to dislodge several of the marbles that powered its intricate mechanism. Now the Nutcracker still roams the dark, winding corridors of the subterranean labyrinth—its gears clicking, its lantern‑eyes dim—yet it no longer limits its targets to rats.

Enjoy the long holiday weekend! Will be right back, hopefully with some less crude humour.

This looks awesome!! I love the rat king so much!!!
Quick question- I really love the Scandinavian miniatures you designed awhile back- it was a lord and his two huscarls, one with an axe and one with a spear. I’m getting into pillage and was wondering, have you considered making some more dark age stuff, like 9th century Anglo Saxons and historically accurate Vikings with spangenhelms or spectaclehelms(with or without maille lower face protection)?
I love the nutcracker! I might have to paint one a day in February... of whichever year I get my printer working again.
Now that's some quality lore :D All the best for the new year.
That rat king is PERFECT for a D&D adventure I'm writing currently. Magical timing.
