No, I'm not taking a break from working. I'm taking a break from the looming pressure of taking payments but not delivering anything.
EP9 is gonna take a while yet and continuing to charge money while I work on it is stressing me out big time. Pausing charges will relieve that.

Not gonna lie and say I've been as productive as I once was. EP1-EP5 I was working like a man on crack. Working on the game 18+ hours a day to the exclusion of everything else. I take it slower these days. Starting from the last bonus, things has been dragging a bit.
Enough excuses fool! Give an ETA already!
That's where EP9 is at right now. Script wise and render count wise. If we use EP8 as a metric, it'll be just after dinner with Sam and about to start the Emily bedroom scene.
So, almost done right? Well, thing is EP9 will be quite a bit larger, there's 4 major scene left to do and the transitions between them. Lots and lots left to do, so there's no ETA as of now.

I'll add my voice to the choir of people saying that they wouldn't mind paying, but I understand how not pausing could make you feel a lot of stress. Do whatever you need to do to keep up the high quality so you'll be proud of your work long after it's done.

Maybe I should do a replay again. I feel lonely because Emily hasn't threatened to hit me in the head in quite awhile.
Like many have said already, I wouldn't mind supporting you even though you're not as productive as you were when you first started. I can't even imagine working 18h+ for months or years on end. I would suffer a mental breakdown for sure.
I understand -- your feelings are shared by a number of other creators that I respect. It's a sign of integrity, really... although, as others have said, many of your supporters would have been happy to back you even though the process has slowed down. I'm not surprised that you've had to slow releases, either: the scope and ambition of your game has expanded... which makes me worried a bit that it could get too big... and get away from you. Just... do your best. We're here to support you.
+1 what almost everybody else said. I don't mind paying for a quality product which is all I have seen yet! Shit, don't even have time for Clash of Clans in the summer!
I respect your decision, but people are grown ass adults, if they don't like the wait they can unsub and sub back when they want in. I've just been paying this whole time and honestly I'm not mad about it, the work you put in by yourself is crazy and you make a sold product.
Take your time. I don't mind to pay a bit more if the quality is great ^o^

I dont feel it would be needed to pause this. In your case i dont think of paying for a product but supporting you on the way of releasing it. If stuff takes longer it just takes longer. But ok ... if you wish to "take the preasure away..." :-)
It's summer for crying out loud. People go on vacations, enjoy the weather, chill, barbacue and party. Last time I checked software developers are people too. So... thanks for the break and enjoy your summer :)
