Reverting the recent update + adding a manual patch

Reverting the recent update + adding a manual patch

First of all, sorry for confusion. The recent update most likely would have worked for most of you, but there were issues regarding skins, especially if there were other mods that also involves modding the skin. An update I did to make my mods compatible with other mods ended up screwing up other mods. I should have provided an option to revert this. So I apologize for that.

I'm reverting the 9/30 update, but please read the details:

1. There will still not be any pak files

2. All mods, including Essential Files will go back to how they were before 9/30

3. You will be given a patch tool so you can keep the 9/30 compatibility update if you want it instead.

So here's what I ask you to do:

1. Unzip this .zip file attached to this post, and put all 4 files in your MHWilds mod folder of Fluffy Mod Manager

(typically modmanager\Games\MonsterHunterWilds\Mods)

Also, heads up: this tool does not make backups. It edits your mod files in place. If you want extra peace of mind, copy your whole Mods folder somewhere else first. It shouldn’t be necessary, but I’d rather you know upfront.

- IF you *want to revert* the changes:

1. Disable all Mangie's mods including Essential file in Fluffy Mod Manager (no need to delete)

2. Launch "Separate Custom Skin Patch.bat" file

(When you run the .bat, Windows will probably show a blue “Windows protected your PC” warning (this happens with any script downloaded from the internet, mine included). Click “More info” → “Run anyway”)

3. Type in "revert" and press enter

4. Wait for the patch to be completed.

5. Re-enable Mangie's mods including Essential file

6. Done

(If the steps above didn't work, try deleting all Mangie's mods and Essential files, and redownload + re-enable them)

- IF you *DO NOT want to revert* the changes:

You don't have to do anything for now.

But if you redownload my mods later, or grab new ones in the future, they’ll come back in the pre-9/30 (unpatched) state, so you’ll need to re-apply the patch yourself if you want to keep the compatibility update:

1. Put the newly downloaded mod folder(s) directly into your MHWilds Mods folder in Fluffy, alongside the 4 patch files.

2. Launch Separate Custom Skin Patch.bat.

3. Type start and press Enter.

4. Wait for it to finish, then enable the mod(s) as usual.

(If you’d rather not touch your live Mods folder directly, you can instead run this in a separate scratch folder first and move the result over once you’re happy with it -- same steps, just pick a different folder to put everything in.)

Sorry again for the trouble. Let me know if there's any problem.

I will keep trying to improve the way my mods work.
