The microscopes are in!

Hello dear patrons! Today I finally picked up two microscopes. I promised that I would buy a microscope when I reached 20 patrons. At that time I was thinking about getting a USB microscope. I'm glad that I didn't do that, because those aren't really microscopes but just a cheap camera with a fat lens in front of it. With the continued support of all of you over the past few months I have been able to afford something actually nice and high quality. 

 What you're seeing here are two microscopes. The compound microscope on the left can magnify up to 400X and can be used to view very small objects like rotifiers, paramecium and even small crustaceans (not at 400X though). The last picture is made with the compound microscope. It's a cross-section of the spinal cord of a rabbit magnified 100X. 

The stereo microscope on the right can magnify up to 40X and can be used to view much larger objects, isopods for instance. The other two pictures are made with the stereo microscope at 10X magnification. You're looking at a tangerine leaf and a locust head.
