Crafting Lucky Paradox #48: Barrie Girls are on Fire!
Hello everyone!
Two more weeks have passed with a lot of progress. The update is currently at 70% complete. Development has been moving at a dizzying pace.
During these weeks, I have been working full-time on the renders for the update. I want to leave a few days of extra time, since the animations I want to make are quite ambitious and I don't know how long they will take me to finish yet. I feel this is a good method to avoid delays in development.
In addition, I want to include many erotic events, and as I mentioned before, there are a total of five. For now, animations that are more than 10 seconds long have been quite difficult to compress. I wouldn't like to increase the game's size too much, as the current size is already considerable.
Two of these events will be a threesome, involving Prim and Lea. This time, the story will have a very accelerated pace. So I still must think of a solution for the size of the animations. The truth is, I would like to show some more previews, but most of them are NSFW hahaha!
In total, I have finished more than 700 renders, and this week I should finish the remaining ones, and then focus entirely on making the best animations you have ever seen. The main story for Prim will also have great progression, as it will feature 7 new, medium-length events. Like Charlotte's update.
In addition, there will be a long event for Iris. We will be able to get a great reward that was pending in the current ending of her story. This will allow us to start the new Barrie special milk sales business. If you use a little imagination, you can already figure out where all this is going.
In the end, there will be a big surprise in the form of a revelation, but I want to keep everything related to it a secret, as I want you all to discover it.
Finally, two new music tracks will be added, with happy vibes, since strangely, Prim's story didn't have anything like that.
And as a final announcement, Patrons will be able to vote this Friday for the girl who will receive content in the next update. By popular request, this time I am going to add Luna to the pool. I am looking forward to seeing who the winner will be this time.

Very exciting news! I'm looking forward to seeing more of the universal duality part of the story get fleshed out. As far as compression of audio/video, I have a few tips, though I'm not sure how much Ren'Py supports: * x265 with appropriate settings * see https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Encode/H.265 for lots of details * CRF is obviously the biggest parameter to get right * preset is second * With x264, tune was next, and could make a huge difference for rendered content, as its color boundaries and gradients are well-defined. It looks like that's probably been mostly done away with, but the ones that remain are bit cryptic and I'll admit that I haven't looked into them much. * use a lossy audio codec - gold standard is Opus with appropriate quality setting * humans are pretty awful at auditory discernment, so there is a lot of room for savings here * similarly, settings tweaks can be used to further compress images without accompanying loss of (perceptible) quality All of these can be retroactively applied as a batch so you can run the conversion overnight. As I'm sure you've discovered, video encoding in particular is SLOW, but you can get a lot from not rushing it. Depending on how badly you want to get the size minimal, you can run batches with different settings so you can compare how they come out. I hope this isn't all stuff you knew already - just wanted to pass along some of my personal experience in case it was helpful.
