Crafting Lucky Paradox #18: Sad News
Hello everyone and welcome to a new sneak peek of Lucky Paradox.
The new Lucky Paradox update is finally available, and with it, new content for Maxy, Galila and Tomoe, as well as several translation fixes and bug fixes, although this last week my personal life has taken a dark turn, so I had to leave the development of new content on pause for a few days.
Let's go with the details.
During the first week of development, I have test and program everything necessary to finish the Alpha of version 0.9.3, and I fixed all the bugs reported by Patreons who were able to access early.
Once all those problems were fixed, Sirxtias was dedicated to make a compilation of grammatical errors in the English version together with some members of the Discord community, so many improvements were included in this regard (Thanks a lot to the community! They are the best!), all these corrections along with the fixed bugs were included in the Beta released a few days ago.
In parallel to the respective bug fixes, I have started the development of the next update, version v0.9.4.
I have a lot of new features planned in the next update, so I want to organize the whole development in a smart way to include as much content as possible. My intention is to add new content for Layla and a small content expansion for her sister Gia, as well as including Celestine's (The beach girl) side story, which will include new unlockable scenes from practically the beginning of the game, I think that making new content for the early part of the game could be great.
And... I'm going to add a new girl, which will be unlockable during Layla's new content. This girl is something quite different from what has been seen so far, and giving more details would be making Big Spoilers, but I have a lot of fun ideas to include here, plus some content focused on "Transformation", something like potions, but this girl will include this permanently.
So far, I'm working on writing the script for the new content, so there's still a lot to do, but soon I'll have the first concepts finished, and I would have liked to bring you more progress on it but....
Well, the title of this post includes "Sad News for something"...
And this is because on Wednesday of last week, my mother passed away after a long fight against cancer.
I don't like to talk about negative topics, but in this occasion, it has affected me quite a lot and not only because of the pain, but because of everything that goes with giving a dignified burial to such a loved and close one, those who have gone through something like this surely know what I mean.
Even at this moment it is extremely difficult for me to write these words...
Because of this I had to make a pause in the development (from last Wednesday to Sunday), as I was very affected both emotionally and mentally, it is the second loved one I lost because of this damn disease in just a few months, and despite wanting to stay professional and work to bring you new content all the time, it was impossible for me, and I apologize from the bottom of my heart.
Right now, I feel with a little bit of strength to continue with the development, so during the next progress report I will be able to bring you much more news than this time.
There has also been a constant request during these last weeks, about adding new slots for the Alter tier ($10), right now it is a possibility that I am considering, although it is impossible for me to know how many people are interested in this. The Alter has remained unchanged since the beginning, and I think after all this time it's not a crazy idea to add a few more (maybe 25 or something like that).

Yep, very sorry for your loss. Its not easy, as I'm still trying to find my way through the grief and sorry from my son passing 2 years ago. I try to do things I enjoy still. Your game is something that helps distract me from this and work as well. I'm glad to see you're looking to get some normal back in your life. Thanks for all you do to help keep us amused and eventually you'll find your way through the process. I'll let you know when I finally make my way through it. Hang in there.

I can only say that pain like this is a journey that has no real destination, it will always be there, and you'll never "get over it"... I can only say that if you keep trying, it will get easier to bear. Never be afraid to share that load, and never be ashamed to cry when you must. Take comfort in the last wishes of nearly every mother, ever: that her children's happiness and safety are always number one, and that when they are no longer there, that her children will carry on, and never forget all her love. That love lives on in you. Never forget that. Do what you must, and come back when you're ready... it's that simple. We'll be here.

Damn, my condolences. Take your time and grief, love your work so I can wait bet everyone here does to. It's okay to take your time and process. Take it from me. Lost my fiancee in a murder and never griefed her properly. I pushed on with part anger, part guilt and it left me broken for way too long until I accepted her passing, lost years of my life lost. It hurts horribly but they'll live on through one's self helped me. Stay strong.

I am very sorry to hear that Stawer. My mom also has lung cancer and her time is running out. Nothing one can do. My whole sympathy is with you, I can relate. And don't worry friend. I know we are just your "online community and backers", but we are also humans and I think most can fully understand the problem. As little it might mean, I would think that most of us are there for you. Take your time.

Stawer there are zero words to describe the pain you must be feeling as of right now I am terribly sorry you are going though such hard times and I personally would like it if you could take a few extra days more than you might think to help process and grieve I made that mistake of trying to go right back to it when my father passed and it just felt harder.
Our thoughts are with you, man. Please don't feel any pressure from us to push through your grief. If you need a distraction, sure work on the update, but your grieving process comes first. I'm sorry you're going through this--and like others have said, she's not in pain and that's very much a mercy.
Take your time with this. I lost my dad to it last week so I know exactly what you are going through. Keep on being strong for those close to you and always remember the good times. It's hard but take things one day at a time.

I know how it feels to lose a mother, I'm sorry to hear that you lost yours to that asshole called cancer. Settling the affairs and dealing with the loss takes time. I'm all for whatever you need to take, I've been a patron for years now and this never felt like a grift or a scam like some other projects. You constantly output great content, take your time, some have waited much more for much less.
Family come first. 1000% Take the time you need to heal and nothing less. Losing a loved one is really hard and is nothing to apologize for.
Sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, I know what you are going through. I lost my mom to cancer 4 years ago. All I can say, and I know it is comforting only a little, but on the bright side she is no longer suffering. She is at peace. Cherish the memories, and the good times.
