Types and auras for spirit kin.
Since "equipping" spirit kin doesn't make much sense, the language I settled on was you "assigning" them as familiars.
You have will have one main familiar, and two secondary familiars. With all the familiars in all three slots able to grant auras every round, honestly things got a little weird and chaotic, and it felt like a bit too much, so now only your "main" familiar (the one in slot 1) can activate its aura effects. I actually think this is a good change, though, overall. It lowers the pressure on the other two familiars. You now only need to worry about getting the type, color, and rank combination you really need on one familiar, and for the other two, only color and rank will really matter.
I may buff the number of auras granted by each type in the future, or make it a factor of rank and/or level if the familiars now feel too unimpactful.
Here are the types of kin and the auras they grant:
Auspicious familiars grant "favored," which is a new aura that regenerates MP. It's similar to kinesis but a little weaker. I decided not to use the existing auras as a permanent source of kinesis or imbued both felt a little broken.
Beastly familiars grant "brave." Brave is strong but very situational, but also never totally useless. It's a bit of a weird one, but I think it's fine as a familiar aura.
Cunning familiars grant "keen." Keen is one of the most generalist buffs in the game, so I think it's fine as a familiar aura.
Fiendish familiars inflict "wounds." Wounds aren't that strong or specialized, so granting them is a boon to various builds without feeling overpowered in my opinion.
Gentle familiars grant "gentleness," which is a new aura that regenerates HP. It's similar to surge but a little weaker. Surge is just too strong to grant as a permanent (and slowly growing) effect.
Pestilent familiars inflict "rot." Rot is a good generalist defense shredder and fire amp, so this actually may be the most broken aura, but generally it takes a lot of rot stacks to make a big difference in damage, so it's probably okay.
Proud familiars grant "pride," which is a new aura that prevents death. You have a chance to resist dying when reduced to 0 HP, surviving with 1 HP instead. The odds of this happening are around 3-4% per stack, but when the effect is triggered, you lose 30 stacks of pride. This is powerful, but proud familiars are more rare than the others, and this effect also takes a decent amount of time to build up or to rebuild after proccing, so I think it works.
