The Dranglaex getting their hands on a second Starcaster gives me vibes of the Second Punic War from ancient history class when I was in school. The Battle of Cannae is one of the most famous large-scale defeats of an army in history. The Carthaginian general Hannibal lured the entire Roman army into a trap, encircled it, and killed 50,000-70,000 Roman troops while taking another 10,000 Roman troops hostage. Hannibal did this by exploiting a weakness of the Roman army having two consuls act as “supreme general”. The level headed one was Paullus and the hotheaded one with a desire to distinguished was Varro. Hannibal noted when command switched and taunted the hotheaded Varro into leading the entire Roman army straight into a trap. I could totally see Prince Vectanix in the part of Paullus and Prince Kelias in the part of Varro. All it would take would be a smooth, wily tactician to get a Starcaster empowered Kelias to lead the entire Dranglaex military into a trap while Vectanix is indisposed for some reason to recreate that legendary battle.
That would be interesting to see but it doesn't feel like the Federation has enough information about the workings of the Dranglaex. Or do they? It has been a conflict for 100 years right? They should have some idea about their politics and administration.
With any luck La'ni will feel the energy pull and we can use the Aphelion to track them down and starcast his head off
