More and more it feels like this Captain is working for the dranglaex. His insistence on making sure the ship is destroyed, even willing to kill the other Starcaster wearer, the most powerful wearer the federation possesses? Yeah, no. He's 100% on the side of the enemy.

I really don't think he is. In the last 5 minutes, he's had all hell break loose on his ship, with an urgent summons from command to a jump rendezvous for an attack on the enemy, AND he's afraid he's going to lose the item that has been shoved into his lap as his responsibility to secure.
