[Research] Of allies and spells!
Hello friends
Today I come with a small poll
So, I’m working on the whole allies and companions, and, as expected it is a huge topic, but something that just crossed my mind, and I cannot really decide on what to do is if allies should fight while you fuck.
On one hand, it keeps the fight moving, you can be busy fucking one enemy ,and meanwhile your ally can clear the rest (or just get downed as well, lol), this would make fights shorter, as the action keeps going and never stops.
On the other hand, this will distract you from enjoying the sex, if there are people moving around and throwing fireballs and lightning and hitting each other. So, yeah I cannot decide which option I like more, so I figured I would ask here, and see if either the voting or some comments can help me reach a conclusion about this.
As much as I want the game to be as dynamic as possible, I don’t want it to be at the expense of enjoying the sex. And no, I cannot just do a toggle for it to be on or off, this is a huge topic, and would require rewriting a lot of things, so yeah, making “both” is not an option for this.
And on a different topic I wanted to get your feedback about magic and melee.
I personally feel the game is balanced, I can do a full clear of any area with any character on any build, some get online faster than others, and some are still not 100% functional due to me not having added all talents and spells. However, I am the developer, I know what every enemy, attack, spell and special ability does, and I (sort of) know/remember what every enemy is capable of. So, you know, I’m not the perfect judge for this.
The core concept of difference between melee and magic is ease of use vs power.
Melee is fast (heavier weapons make your turns take longer to recharge), but the initial attack is instant, while magic is more powerful, yet requires you to cast the spell (usually) and expose yourself to danger, for then to deliver a more powerful blow.
As a math thing:
Most melee abilities deal around 140% weapon damage + 140% Attack power. This changes based on the secondary effects of the ability
Most spell abilities deal around 200% Spell power. This also changes based on secondary effects and the magic school:
Fire spells deal average damage, have average casting time and focus cost
Lightning spells, deal lower damage but are faster to cast, and are more tied to critical hits
Arcane spells deal high damage but have a high mana cost
Shadow (weave) spells deal high damage but have the longest casting time
Nature spells deal average damage, but focus more on debuffing or damage over time
Divine spells are mostly buffs currently, but won’t be super effective at dealing damage
So with that basis, spells offer a bit more difference in play, and usually get a bigger impact from talents, sometimes requiring more talents to become even more powerful.
An easy example of this is the lightning bolt spell (bolt), which can trigger overload, and if both the base and the overload crits (with devastation talent), you suddenly hit the target for x4 of the normal damage.
So the questions below are to see if I should tune up or down some things.
One thing I will be changing is not enabling enemies to interrupt the player spells on easy difficulty.
So, yeah, please give me your opinion!
Cheers!

I'd like allies (and enemies) to try and fuck while my character fucks. Joining in, "occupying" each other, or "handling" themselves while I'm busy.
I'd just prefer more updates to KFC2. It's a great game and better than YC.
The spanking position is too light. Can it be harder? It would be better if you can add some buttocks scars or redness
So far, I haven't used much magic, especially aggressive magic. Because I have only one person and a large group of enemies, I can only choose melee to avoid being interrupted. I think there needs to be at least one more defensive magic in the magic that can prevent players from being interrupted. Otherwise, without teammates, I wouldn't dare to use magic. You should consider placing the characteristic descriptions of various spells in a more prominent and easily readable place in the game. I only saw the explanation today. I think the combat mode of teammates can be related to the player's current combat mode. If a player engages in sexlight with an enemy, their teammates also choose to engage in sexlight with the enemy, and vice versa. The extra people from both sides will be added according to the settings and become a threesome. Until all three people are fully booked. I think doing this feels more like a battle.
Do you have any plans on diversifying the different voices for enemies like you did with Solas? As it stands now, it's all the same voice.
What about...they join the Sexpart!
Having played all your games I think the problem that I see most is that its a slogfest. More often than not I find myself rushing to a particular point of content or fetish and having to fight x amount of enemies becomes tedious. Unlike Solas City Heroes(Which is my favorite) I'm not having to fight enemies to get to x point. I avoid enemies and only ever use AOE attacks. Thus melee weapons without an aoe are completely ignored. The same thing would go for spells, which admittedly I have not tried yet but in SCH I did use powers to speed up the process. As for allies it might bloat the process but what if instead of fighting/not fighting you controlled your allies for something more final fantasy/rpg oriented? Do with those thoughts as you will.
As long as they don't interrupt. More importantly, can allys get a "pacifist" switch? My main prides himself to (at least till now) only sexfighting; I hope I can setup companion combat behaviour rules like "sex only" (and probably several others that make sense but I can't think of atm).
Personally, Having allies able to attack/do other things while you/them are otherwise engaged is really the only option, yes this bias comes from the types of Japanese HGames I tend to gravitate towards but it keeps everything moving along while everything else is happening and it also allows for Allies/Players to use an attack/skill to Free their party member(s) from grabs. It just helps keep the flow of the games comfortable, otherwise the entire pace of fights and the game as a whole gets kinda shafted, it's an RPG, RPGs don't stop characters from acting unless they're Paralyzed or Frozen or Stunned etc. It would feel so disjointed imho. "Oh Player Character is Grappled, well guess I better put my equipment down, go make a tea or coffee and just chill until they're done getting all sweaty or I get invited". Makes sense that Enemies stop attacking when you only have a single Party Member or else you'd just Capture Looped (if enabled) or Death Looped (blackout looped?) Plus allies will be optional so if alone = enemies function how they do now, if party members = battle continues normally while someone is grappled, plus then I can use my Party Member to take out the Female Enemies that spawn Bald sometimes when Enemy Rando is on haha. Unrelated though : Would still like to see Sliders Unlocked (within reason, I'm not talking as crazy as Modded Honey Select 2 can get *eye twitch*) and X/Y/Z Sliders for certain things in Character Customization sometime down the road.
I think I agree with Raven Knight: If a group of enemies would regard both my character and my ally as "equal opportunity opponents" and continue trying to take us both down (sexually or in combat), that could be really cool. Currently, other than the team-up option, once sexual combat starts up with a larger group of opponents, the rest of the bad guys' attacks just stall while they sit there and wait for their ally to fuck my character. It would add a whole new dimension to things if those not engaged in sex could focus their attacks on my character's ally. Would the music shift to the sex-version if my character was getting fucked but my ally was still trading fisticuffs?
Personally I would rather have allies fighting while I'm fuckin and vise versa as I feel like that would keep things moving. You could setup boss battles to be unquine if the need arises too
Imo, in these kind of games, the whole point of sex attacks should be stunlocking ennemies while your allies are wailing at them. That allows for fun builds and party dynamics like having dedicated rape bait characters.
I feel like in terms of the allies obviously not any time soon but it be nice to see eventually having foursomes 2 ally 2 enemy or even 3 enemy against you or vice versa. I know it wouldnt happen for a long time if it does even come to pass. Could be a thing to maybe look into after current roadmap is done. Would definetly say no fighting while sex is happening but maybe them supporting you with buffs and applying debuffs to the enemy would be neat
Are allies/companions optional?
Yes, in fact you gain more experience fighting alone, but it is an option for those who want it!
