Dev Update #48

Hello patrons! It's now been exactly 1 month since the release of "Element-174 Part 2" on Steam. And this is yet again a reminder for those of you who haven't cashed in the opportunity: if you've pledged $10.80 since 2022 then you are eligible for a complimentary Steam key for Part 2. So now it's time to talk about the near future for Element-174. After the release, I took some time off from the project (aside from minor bug fixes) after experiencing some burnout in the last few months before release. Some of this time included planning and outlining for the development of Part 3, but nothing concrete so I can go in with a fresh mind before beginning the final development cycle of the game.

Week 4 (or days 22-28) is almost completely mapped out. In fact, most of the general plot points have been written for years now. There were a few changes made along the way as different ideas came up, but for the most part, I'm ready to begin production on the final week of the game. I may have to slow down a little in order to pace myself because the past 7 months simply wasn't sustainable long term. I'd rather complete the game as I always wanted to, rather than burn out before the project is finished. This game is my baby and I'm so proud of everything I've been able to accomplish, as well as thankful for the support of everyone whose enjoyed it along the way.

One change I'll be making to the development process is probably discontinuing the $10 bonus tier here on Patreon. I'm simply unable to provide the bonus content anymore, as I want to focus all of my available energy to simply getting the game out as soon as possible. With a game as large as this and with only 1 person doing it, we're talking years worth of development and any extra bit I can shave off that time helps achieve that goal.
