Elemental Harmony Lore
Primordial Dragon — Aezaryth
Born of the aether, not of parents. The name sits between “aether” and a draconic breath-sound. In-world, lesser beings never say the full name; they say the First Mirror or the Horned Thought, because only the neck and the crown of horns have ever fit inside a sky. Aezaryth is not a god who answers prayers. It is the mind whose stray ideas become weather, species, and law. Light is the thought that continues. Darkness is the thought that stops. Neither is moral.
Golden dragon of life — Aurelyon
Eastern-coiled, sun-maned, pearl in the mouth when it is pleased with itself. Cheerful, playful, a little vain about new species. Governed by yang: growth, appetite, the refusal to stay still. Aurelyon does not “love” every creature. It loves the experiment. A forest that invents a new bird is a compliment. A civilization that stops changing is a draft it will rewrite.
Black dragon of death — Morvexar
Western, winged, armored in slate scales, amused in the way a surgeon is amused. Yin without sulking. Morvexar does not hate what Aurelyon makes. Endings are the other half of the joke. Its humor is dry: a kingdom that begged for immortality gets exactly that, and then has to watch the joke land over ten thousand years. The hush after a battle is its signature, not the slaughter.
Blue dragon of time and space — Aevoryn
Steadfast, dutiful, the one who actually keeps the ledger. Aevoryn is why Aurelyon and Morvexar can share a room. Life happens here, death happens then, and the distance between those words is Aevoryn’s work. Amicable rather than warm. It will explain the fall of a star in the same tone it uses to remind Aurelyon that a species is not ready for a second sun. Record-keeper of what is, was, and the narrow band of what still can be.
Indigo dragon of the elements — Zyndrath
Lustful in the old sense: yearning, hungry for combination, bored by anything that stays in its lane. Zyndrath does not rule fire or water. It rules the argument between them. Chaos is the clash that throws up a new coastline. Harmony is the same elements agreeing long enough to hold a planet still. The indigo cast is the mix, not a fifth element. When Zyndrath is restless, storms learn new colors. When it is satisfied, a world becomes livable.
If you want a harsher primordial name, Veythran works as the name other dragons use when they are being formal, with Aezaryth as the older true name. I would not give the primordial a gendered title. “It” in narration, “the First” in dialogue, keeps the scale.
How they actually relate
Aezaryth isolated four thoughts because an all-powerful mind with no mirror cannot tell a whim from a law. The crystals are not children. They are instruments.
Red, fire and will: the drive that makes a thing refuse to vanish.
Blue, water and emotion: need, grief, want, the reason a thing bothers to continue.
Yellow, lightning and mind: curiosity, the question that splits one species into two.
Green, earth and wind: stability and progress together. Ground that holds, air that moves. A world with only one of those is either a grave or a gust.
The yin-yang above the horns is not a faction flag. It is the rule the other four are not allowed to break: male and female, charge and absence, making and unmaking, all paired so neither term can win. Aurelyon leans yang. Morvexar leans yin. Neither is allowed a total victory, and Aevoryn is the one who notices when one of them is cheating.
The familiar bond is curiosity downward and awe upward, with amusement on both sides. Aezaryth watches the four the way a sleeper watches a dream it is curious not to interrupt. They look back with the specific affection of powerful children who know their parent could erase the sentence they are speaking and, so far, has not. That is the lighter tone. They bicker. Aurelyon names a beetle after Morvexar to annoy him. Zyndrath flirts with weather systems. Aevoryn sighs and writes it down. Aezaryth, somewhere beyond the horns, finds the bickering informative.
