The life of a monster hunter is brutally simple: track the nightmares that feast on humanity, drive a blade through their hearts, and pray you die young—before the weight of your choices crushes what’s left of your soul.
For Devon, that’s been the only rhythm he’s ever known. His days are soaked in the blood of beasts and the coin they fetch. His past? A graveyard of memories he buries deeper with every kill—rivers of gore, shattered lives, and losses that still scream in his nightmares. Only the mad or the broken choose this path.
But fate has a vicious sense of humor.
Now he’s stuck playing reluctant guide to a bright-eyed young nobleman who traded silk sheets and silver spoons for steel and slaughter. The kid craves danger like it’s fine wine, chasing thrills he doesn’t yet understand. Devon figures the fool won’t last a month.
He has no idea how wrong he is.
Because this partnership isn’t just another job. It’s the first step into a bottomless abyss—one filled with ancient horrors, buried secrets, and a destiny far darker than any monster he’s ever faced.
And if Devon knew the truth of what awaited them… he’d chased the pretty nobleman away before letting him take another step into the shadows.
