Game music question
Hello there!
I am finishing work on the first demo of the game and it is about to appear here. Now I’m interested in your opinion on one issue regarding gaming voice acting, and specifically music. In the first demo of the game, there will most likely not be a full-fledged voice acting, however, there will be background music anyway. And this poll concerns her.
I’m specifically interested in whether to use only the original soundtrack from the SW in the game, or add various melodies from other sources that are simply suitable for specific locations? For example, music reminiscent of Eastern or African for sandy and heat Tatooine locations, techno or dubstep tracks on the metal-plastic avenues of Coruscant, the ethnic melodies of China and Japan for the serenity streets of Naboo and so on. As an example, I attached a couple of tunes to the post.
Of course, the OST of SW does not go anywhere, but characteristic melodies will sound only in iconic places and game situations. The rest of the time can be filled with other music.
Or, all the same, leave only the OST of the SW Universe?

Yeah, copyright is a thing. You could always give the player the option to play their own music files so they can play the SW music they own or have downloaded ;) or get some short loops from somewhere. As long as it's no longer than 20 seconds, I think you can use files. Would need to check that, though
copyright is so gay...also when will u give us a release-_- im sick of waiting for games im excited for cd proketred delayed their game for 5 more months and u said ur game would be done soon like so many times and you never release.
I'm suing you for using Wolfman which has so many copyrights on it that you can't sneeze at Wolfman without getting boogers on you. Oh and on a completely unrelated side note I have a release just for you: whinybaby.exe just click it everytime you want to complain because all creators held off on releasing a project due to wanting to have a working game instead of just releasing a broken game just to appease the Wolfman.....
I'm going to have to agree, so far your parody skirts legality so long as you don't use music directly from the OST. I would love/expect something akin to the OST in the Canteena but you don't have to use it music directly from the OST to use similar sounding music.
Yes, I don’t argue, but sometimes you just can’t do without original music.
DON'T USE ANY official Star Wars music if you don't want this project to be taken down by a cease & desist notice.
Well, with that method, I may not be doing this game at all. But I think this is not what you all expect :)
I'm afraid the SW ost may be full of copyrights... But I love it nonetheless :3
