Final Fantasy VII Remake’s Tactical Mode | Mix and Jam
In the Final Fantasy VII Remake, there's a new feature called Tactical Mode, which makes time slow down during the battle, allowing the player to select abilities and spells strategically. I thought it would be a good idea to try and develop a similar mechanic in this episode!
Let me know what you think of the video in the comments! :D

Great tutorial! Found it very enlightening. One issue I found is that if you enter tactical mode while being out of range from an enemy it breaks (camera bugs, pointing to character, and if you confirm the ATB bar is spent)
Thanks Pablo! I will fix that - could you report the issue in the Github repo?
The end result is amazing! I do have some suggestions for you before you "ship it", however. First, five minutes feels way too short on this one. You have so much going on that there's no opportunity to actually see you explain any code, which is a big part of why I love your stuff. Don't be afraid of detail. Next, it's not clear why you make the collider turn on and off on the timeline. You say that you do it, but not why or what led to that approach. Finally, it felt like the time slowdowns in the final demo were way too long. If I was playing a game that froze time for 1-2 seconds every time I killed an enemy, I would start looking through the settings looking for a way to shut that off. It's like lens flare; really good in small quantities. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the feedback!
