I personally didn't understand the hype behind Oppenheimer, It had tremendous star power, a lot of my favorite actors and actresses were in it, however the story didn't interest me, or pace quite right for my tastes.

The Departed is tied for my favorite movie ever. It's tied with Mad Max Fury Road. And it's losing to HTTYD2. You need to watch it at least at some point if you've never seen it. That and Whiplash are so much better than Oppenheimer and HTTYD2

Why isn’t there an option to downvote? Alex is missing so many amazing films that are true masterpieces. Which I think he should see especially if he truly loved filmmaking and wants to do one/some himself in the future. None of these are trash but the amount of masterpieces that are outvoted by films that are just cash grabs. I’ve seen most of the “cash grab”-movies, but usually on occasion where I was just bored and was too lazy to search for a good one. But he wouldn’t need to do that here. Not all artsy movies are masterpieces, but there’s a reason why there are very few “cash grabs” on the IMDb Top 100 list that also have a high Metascore. In today’s recommendation there was a movie that has very high ratings and is funny as hell and would definitely be in Alex’s wheelhouse and would make for an excellent YouTube video, especially with his sense of humor… Everything Everywhere All At Once (wasn’t suggested by me, but I did vote for it). I mean my suggestion of Mrs. Doubtfire wasn’t that bad either, right?

None of these are cash grabs. Thats a bad take.

This will inevitably become a kids YouTube channel at this rate. Sure it's fair, it's all on a vote, just sucks to see my favorite channel turn to wack kid movie reactions by an adult. Who wants to see an adult man react to a kids movie. It's just weird, like awkward ya know? I'm 35 who wants to watch me react to toy story? Nobody, it's weird. Js

Your kidding right? All Alex does is react to adult content. There is hardly any animation on his channel at all.

j
jamie jones · February 28, 2024

Ugh. 3 masterpieces and a good film. And the good film is winning

I’m not a How to Train Your Dragon hater… I legit think the first two are some of the best CG animated films of recent memory. (Especially non-Pixar) But also… like Alex’s Departed or Whiplash reactions are going to be priceless… and I would hate to delay it for an animated sequel he could get to at any time.

It annoys me that we have 3 movies that are genuinely up there with the best ever made, then there's How to Train your Dragon 😐

S
Spriggitt · February 27, 2024

Which is also enjoyable.

At this point, it might already be Gen VI. :-)

I never made it all the way through Oppenheimer lol maybe a lot of ppl liked it but I fell asleep halfway through… so I’d definitely say how to train your dragon 2

IGOR PODEMSKI · February 27, 2024

How to train your dragon might actually be one of the worst DreamWorks movies. What are you smoking people?

You gotta be lying right?

Waiting for whiplash to win cause I suggested it

Goated suggestion

Aaron Boone · February 27, 2024

Your reaction to whiplash might break the internet.

A
Aaron Boone · February 27, 2024

How to train your dragon is easily the worst out of these options. Please just watch it and get it out of the way so you can get to some good movie. The other 3 are Oscar level movies.

S
Spriggitt · February 27, 2024

I respectfully disagree.

If Oppenheimer wins I hope we get a *slightly* more serious tone. Nothin crazy, I love the jokes, but sometimes you just gotta sit back and enjoy a movie and not worry about making jokes or getting a perfect take for the YouTube edit

J
Jason Rogue · February 27, 2024

Its Alex, not making any jokes won't be a sincere reaction. Unless the movie is that captivating that he's speechless, then you can expect no jokes.

T
TheMrspeedracer2 · February 27, 2024

I don't understand people's obsession with how to train your dragon. Oppenheimer is much better.

J
Josh · February 27, 2024

I would love for him to react to Oppenheimer, but HTTYD is a solid trilogy and since he’s watched the first I really want him to get through it. I’m sure Oppenheimer will continue making it to the polls until he watches it

A
Alfounce Jolly · February 27, 2024

Oppenheimer was a good movie but a 2nd watch, no way. no matter who is watching it. :)

X
Xanny · February 27, 2024

We still gotta get him to watch Now you see me 2

A
Aidan · February 27, 2024

How is how to train your dragon beating Oppenheimer, the departed, and whiplash lmaoooo

M
MotorCityMaxim · February 27, 2024

Seriously lol, I can't get over that. All these literal masterpieces getting outvoted by a slightly above average animated kids movie. Crazy pills I tell you 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
