You May Need to Hear This

I had a badass video planned for today, but something inside said to push everything back a day and post THIS. I felt a need. I felt a tug. A maget. A pull to do this. So, I did it.

May 1 person needs to hear this; maybe 1000 people need to hear this. If you're watching this video or reading this comment, know that I am aware of you and am SO grateful for you!

I love you guys so much!

Love,

Alex

It’s weird that this got suggested to me today after having another YouTube group I like discuss mental health in there podcast it’s been a tough battle for a few years trying to rediscover the basics of how to live and want to do that and hearing both of these today has really helped

Thank you reminding me it's okay to not be okay and not to stay in that place. I have a grandson , he is 3, he is terminal . He is doing wonderful , everyday is a blessing . The sadness does creep in, even in the moments of happiness. We have taken the stance , we are all dying everyday we just don't know, that has kept us grounded. My job had suffered, my finances have suffered I'm headed for bankruptcy. And guess what ? I'd do it all again for this boy . Please remember to tell the people you love that you love them . I have been humbled to my knees. Thank you Alex for your kind words , thank you for the content that keeps me smiling . I found you a month ago . I check out and watch your rectuons along with other on you tube. It's been a positive thing for me . Life is good for my family medical wise at the moment but that could change any moment. We are all in grief counseling. We sre strong , and as of now we are healthy . I have a positive outlook but some days that mountain seems impossible....I leave all of you with this. Please be kind you never know what someone is going through and smiles hide alot. Bless you Alex ! Keep it going!!

My mom just died very, very recently. I'm still having trouble accepting it. It's something that was a long time coming and we all knew the day was approaching fast. I'm very thankful that I had the opportunity to spend a little time with her during her final days. Yes, it's heartbreaking and terrible but she knew that I loved her and I absolutely knew that she loved me. That's really the most that anyone can ask for. This is the first death in my family that I've experienced. I don't know how to process it. I've pretty much just continued on throughout my day as I would any other. I wake up, get a shower in, get dressed for my day and either let my caregiver in (I'm paralyzed from the waist down) or I just go about my day solo. I'm usually either gaming or watching some nonsense online. That's pretty much every day for me. Not really fulfilling but I'm okay with that! I'm not after anything crazy or exciting. I'm perfectly alright with mellow and calm days.

Thank you Alex. A lot of people may laugh but Fred Rogers is my hero. You said something that he held as a core value too. It's ok to feel sad or mad. It is ok to feel your feelings. You are still loved even if you're not ok. We appreciate you brother and keep being you.

These last 4 months have been some of the best in terms of content, I love when you post it’s one of the things I look forward to in the week but these last 4 months have also been some of the worst, I’ve been friends with this one girl and I don’t know if she likes me, last month I asked her if she liked me she said she did but that she liked “blank” more. (not saying names for the sake of anonymity) Anyways it’s been a month or so now and I’m not sure what to do, she acts like she likes me she’s flirty with me, but I’m afraid to ask if she likes me or not and ruin an amazing friendship. It’s been amazing with her but also draining knowing I’m putting all this time and effort into her and all she sees me as is a friend. I’m just not sure what to do.

Thanks for the thoughts Alex. I could probably drown this chat with all my negative energy but I’ll just keep it simple. I am tired, completely miserable and severely depressed. I hate my existence on this planet working myself to death for meaningless pieces of paper, and I’ve lost all hope and dreams that it’ll ever get better while being painfully aware that it could easily get worse. My spark is gone; all that’s left is an exposed nerve.

Needed this today, Alex. You don't know me but I love the heck out of you for going out of your way for making this. Working through some addiction stuff and this was a breath of fresh air. If you delay stuff for this, you're a real one. Travelling to Japan soon and trying to kick addictions and alcoholism is hard. My dad just put the nail in the coffin that he doesn't care about me. I'm sure you, Alex relate. Just trying to stay positive. This is also my first night lowering my antidepressants (hopefully I can feel emotion again; let's gooooooo) You're a blessing Alex, and so is your community. I don't know ya but I love ya.

I really appreciate your concern to our Mental Health and it is comforting knowing that you are encouraging the community to share thoughts and strengths. Keep it up... Peacee!

This is one of the reasons I love your content. I have spoke in with you/him in the DMs briefly about some of the issues I face and why I enjoy the content. A little over a year ago my wife left me. I gained custody of my son and moved across the US to be with my family for support. I spent several months door dashing while looking for better work. I gained work making good money but I quickly hit the off season and work is limited in hours. Because of the move and being self employed for a while I don't qualify for unemployment during my off weeks get. I am staying with my grandmother until I get in my feet. My son can't get his own room yet but one day I hope. Relationships have been a struggle. I have had two relationship not go well since my divorce. Being 30 years old I find making friends is difficult. People have their live established and schedules set. I'm holding out for my disability with the VA to go through. I hope they brings in enough money to allow me to move out on my own with my son so we can have our own space and rooms. I know it's not going to make me happy but I hope it will make things a little easier. I'm currently on anti depression medication and well as for ADHD. I'm starting my live over with my 4 year old son. I hope one day I will be where I once was with a place to call my own and a family to go home to. In the mean time I have my mother's side of the family to support me while I bounce back and this patreon to get me through my down time.

Thank you so much for this video! I'm currently disabled with chronic migraines (I get about 1-2 days a month relatively pain-free; although my last pain-free day was in November, if I remember correctly) and I also suffer from CPTSD and Recurrent MDD from 7 yrs of CSA as a kid. So, needless to say, my nervous system is shot to sh*t. Watching your reactions has been so helpful at keeping my spirits up, and with my health being the way it is, positivity is one of the best things I can do to combat my issues. Sending you (and your wife) so much thanks and love!! 🙏🏾 ❤️

First off I think you are awesome, I've been really enjoying watching you experience movies/tv/music videos that I enjoy. I truly enjoy your filthy (in the best way) sense of humor, don't ever stop!! It is sometimes hard to talk about the tough things, whatever they are. The way you talked in this vid reminded my husband and myself of a lovely Star Trek actress that we have the privilege of knowing. Her name is Chase Masterson (Deep Space Nine) and if you look up her TedTalk on YouTube you'll get a sense of what I mean. Having just shared something ver personal on a recent Star Trek podcast I'm a part of I can attest that it is nice to have someone to share the painful things with. Apologies if this rambled a bit, I tend to do that.

L
Logan Kerlee · January 31, 2024

Chase Masterson looks like such a cool lady to get to know! :) It's awesome that you know her.

Stropheum · January 30, 2024

I appreciate that. I busted my ass for two years at a startup game studio, accepted talks of a needed pay increase be delayed for 2 years. Finally I have a merit based pay increase, and it was 3%, over 2 years. My rent increased more than that. It's an insult. Apparently I'm still waiting on "level setting" to happen, but not getting any word on it, while my lead legitimately told me i'm worth 40k more than what I'm getting paid right now. I'm put into a position where I'm incentivized to job hunt and leverage myself walking out the door and acting like a piece of shit to get what I deserve or bend over and take it. I'll play whatever game I'm thrown into, and I'll win. But I just feel so gross having to interview with companies knowing full well my priority is to use a job offer as leverage, and I'm just so disillusioned. So much crunch and so little appreciation for everything I went through. I appreciate you making this post. I just want to be in a spot where I'm not struggling to pay for my rent and my student loans. You'd think making 6 figures would be enough but with grad school student loans, it's just barely getting by x.x I need the mental load off me. I appreciate the respite I get feeling like I have somebody to just relax with, even when I'm not feeling like being around anybody. We'll get through it

Dude, I love you, this message hit the nail on the head with me today. The last few months, I have been working towards buying a brand truck for my own, tiny little company as a long haul truck driver and today I signed the paperwork, picked up the truck and it's now sitting outside of my house. I keep running to the window and looking at it because I'm having mixed emotions - - pride at the fact that part of my small dream is sitting RIGHT THERE, terror because I'm now in debt past my eyeballs, nervous as hell for it to even get a scratch on it and, finally, freaking the f!@# out just in general at seeing a giant purple Kenworth that doesn't even have twenty miles on it just sitting there. With everyone in my life telling me what a mistake I'm making in doing this, I really needed this positive message and you've put some of my nerves at ease. Yeah, I might fail and spend a good portion of my life paying the truck off, however, I know I'd regret it far, far more if I didn't try for it. Wish me luck on my first trip with her - - from my home-state of Oregon to Florida with a generator the size of a small house. lol. I really need a good name for her too, if anyone's got any ideas - - as said, she's big and purple so chime in. lol. Looking forward to more of you as always, Alex, and ty so much for this message and for caring more about your supporters rather than just what you can get out of them. Hope life is treating you good as I lowkey hope for some more scary movies/series to see how high you jump! lol

M

I hate trusting the process because I want that control and to know what's going to happen, it's hard to do but usually it all works out and it does fall into place lol I always stress until it does, let me know if it helps any to let go of that anxiety 😅 I don't think I'm strong enough for that

Literally have a therapy session in 30 minutes and I feel so down that I didn't really want to show up. Doesn't make sense, and I still don't, but you remind me of how much I try to show my kids that they are never alone and it is always okay to feel however you feel or to feel multiple things at once.
