[WIEAYB] Cover Thumbnails Tests
Hiii! These are not the boys you know so well by now, I know!
They are from Where I end and you begin, the other comic I was writing in parallel to Cherry Waves before I began publishing! If you saw my work over at Instagram, they'll be somewhat familiar. I wanted to start talking about this over the next weeks and not so soon, but oh well. Brain. Did some tests for potential chapter covers to get some juices working.
I hope you like seeing some sketches like this! I basically never follow the same process (except for the episodes themselves) cause it depends on the mood and the things I want to try out, but I'll post the recording over the next few days and I will try to talk a bit about it. See you guys sooooon :D
PS. I will upload Kyle's character sheet in a few minutes. Josh's one will come the same way after the next post (tomorrow)!

--Next bit about creative juices flowing and artsy stuff (skip if not interested in those insights!)--
I tried working on the illustration for the banner and everything I did felt like goat poop. So that will have to wait a bit! But hey, sometimes it happens! It's okay.
And yes, it's frustrating, but if you are creative in any way, it pays off to learn how to live with those moments and look for ways to manage and turn the situation around. When it's not flowing, it's no use forcing it... you end up wasting a lot of time for stuff that would usually take just minutes/hours AND wanting to throw the tablet out of the window, and that's no good! ʕಠ_ಠʔ (nor cheap lol).
SO. Instead, what I do sometimes is just switch the task or the theme. To me, having at least two stories to jump around helps me keep my sanity. I used to do that before I started publishing Cherry Waves, and it was amazing for my brain. Creativity flowed so easily.
The other boyos:
As grateful as I am for how things went, Cherry Waves grew way faster than expected and lots of things were happening at the same time in my life, so I had no choice but to focus just on one thing. And honestly, that's one of the reasons that worsened my burnout. Working on just one thing for a prolonged time completely dries and drains me. I need to switch and play. And ironically, I produce way more and I'm more consistent when I do this.
But yay! I'm finally slowly finding and my mental peace (and pace!) again to be able to get back to it!!

Switching between creative projects is what I usually do too… whether I finish some of them is another issue but it understandably helps keep things fresh! I wouldn’t mind if you felt like sharing more from other projects, the concept for this one based on the thumbnail tests seems very cool and different from Cherry Waves! Don’t forget that you’re allowed to take any breaks you need if you do get burnt out❤️❤️
Ah I love these, particularly the one with the face hold in the bottom left. I'm glad you're finding the pace that works for you. Context switching is sometimes needed to help the dopamine rush, I get it.
Oehhhhh this one looks really interesting as well I love the style you went with! They look bad ass! Having different projects at the same time gives you an out when you have trouble with the other one and will keep you entertained longer without getting bored in my experience! I'm happy you found a way that work for you and looking forward to see more of these guys as well!
Yeyy I'm so happy you liked these!! It really felt good to finally get back to this story and play around, and I know that will make me more excited to get back to Cherry Waves too, so... double win! Thank you, as always, for being the most amazing human! ❤❤❤
