Visual Improvements!

Hi Hana followers!

As promised in our last progress report from a whopping 3 months ago, we're going to showcase some visual improvements to our game - parallax mapping.

RPG Maker's basic mapping tools are limited. You can only select between a few different tile options at the tileset. Even when editing the tileset, it is restricted by the number of tiles allowed. With parallax mapping, we have infinite possibilities! We can use any tileset parts imaginable, edit freely, and add custom lighting and shading. But enough talk - let's dive into some examples!

In one of Hana's affection events, you join Hana and Ayano for karaoke fun. With parallax mapping, we created this:

Pretty cool, right?

But to show the change in true comparison, let’s look at our enigmatic lady's abode - Kaho's General Store.

Originally, it looked like this:

Doesn’t look bad, right? But it lacks the technological mystery of our lady. With the new technique, it looks like this:

Technology and magic? That’s Kaho for you! And with improved lighting:

Now we're talking! Notice the difference from the original? It's a whole new level!

We can't recreate every scene this way since it's time consuming. But we're trying our best to provide an awesome experience.
