I didn't get that Michael leaving didn't mean the show was ending, so I mourned for a couple of weeks before realizing that you (Sarah) would continue. Farewell Michael, your humour, tsks, and shocked exclamations will be well-missed, but I am happy to keep hearing Sarah's empathetic takes and gentle outrage on whatever the topic is. There is no podcast I have enjoyed so much. ❤

I feel strongly that this change is like my cool Aunt and Uncle who take me on culturally and emotionally enriching adventures every week are getting divorced. And it's a sweet and healthy breakup that is also emotionally enriching, so I'm learning a lot and I cry about it and I know I'll still see them both all the time BUT I'M STILL CRYING. I'm so excited to keep listening to You're Wrong About (last week's episode 🤩🤩🤩) and keep learning about how change is hard and healthy and also wow wow wowww do I appreciate Mike and Sarah and all your beautiful creations and choices.

So so glad the show will continue. Much respect to Mike for stepping back when he felt the need to and gratitude for all the episodes. I am absolutely enthralled by this podcast. Finally on Patreon to catch the bonus episodes bc Ive literally listened to them all. Keep up the great work as it suits you Sarah! Can’t thank you both enough for all this great work. Thank you Sarah a.k.a. Bane! Hello from Australia. I just wanted to echo the sentiments shared by so many others. I found YWA podcast earlier this year via Sarah’s other pod YADs (now You Are Good) thanks to a recommendation by the amazing Clementine Ford. It has been a true delight to find a pod that intellectualises an empathetic worldview. The chemistry Mike and Sarah share is unmatched and the authenticity of your friendship shines through. I completely understand Mike’s decision and honestly was in awe of just how many episodes you had managed to create, particularly because it is super evident how well researched each episode is. It seems healthy to move on if something becomes resonant of a difficult time and the fact that the pod became such a defining feature of your time in lockdown, it makes sense you might want to move in a different direction now. I am so sad to be losing Mike (as so many others have said) and want to acknowledge the bravery I think it takes to leave something behind, especially when it’s such a good project like YWA. Sarah, it’s also brave to keep going without the safety blanket of the familiar, some might say as brave as Tonya’s triple axel.

There's something leaking from my eyes. You've helped me get through some dark times. I've always been a compassionate person but you've inspired me to extend that compassion to myself. I'm now beginning to view my past mistakes in a different light. Thank you. You're the embodiment of radical empathy.

When I heard the news, I cried on the way to my art teaching job because it was (honestly) the only brightness in this horrendous, exhaustive year…from the Tik Tok trends of school destruction and slap a teacher to behavior and no support…It just all flowed out and luckily I was too depressed to give a shit about mascara. But when you discussed creativity and losing your light, leaving a non-decimated corpse as a preventative measure…it empowered me to reignite my own flicker. A sincere thank you. I am excited about the future of the podcast.

I have to admit I had a rough day yesterday and after hearing the episode I teared up - end of an era! Thank you for sticking with it Sarah, excited for this new chapter!

Oh, Sarah! ❤️ You're gonna do GREAT, like the alternate universe where Paula's breakup with O.J. actually stuck and she ran off to a mountaintop with Michael Bolton.

First, I wanna say I'm really really really really glad the show is continuing, and that also as sad as I am that Mike will be leaving the show I also TOTALLY support him finding paths and passions that work better for him. That said, I did cry a little bit upon learning the news (although, I was already crying that evening for unrelated reasons, so just extra weepy in general). I hope its okay if I leave my little personal anecdote about the show here, to express my appreciation! I first found the show in late April of this year via recommendation of a friend, and after I finally took the time to sit down and listen I quickly blasted through every single episode by July. And even then I still couldnt get enough, and I started re-listening to episodes in my down time instead of just finding a new podcast. (obvi I also blasted through the backlog of adjacent YWA podcasts as well when I was done with a 2nd re-listen). In early September last month my partner of 3 years very suddenly broke up with me, leaving me about a month to pack up everything I owned and move back in with my parents. I was also left alone in our apartment during that time. The thing that helped get me through it was the podcast. My thoughts were a self-depricating whirlwind, but once I popped on an old episode I was able to focus on the tasks at hand and pack up my life in peace. I really quickly started falling asleep to the podcast too, something I've never been able to do previously (I usually need *perfect* quiet to fall asleep). Obvi once I got to that point it only made sense to support yall on patreon too, even if only for access to more episodes :') No other podcast would do, I needed that raw but jovial honesty and perspective the show brings to each of its topics. Not beating around the bush, but not being afraid to make an awful pun to lighten the mood either. I think in a way, it has influenced me to look at this breakup and life transition with a more complex and nuanced perspective, and ask better questions both of myself and of my former partner to form a better understanding of the situation. TLDR; I used your podcast as a big security blanket during a really tough time in my life, which influenced me to look at it through a broader lens. I'm delighted that the show is going to continue even if I'm really really sad Mike wont be as much a part of it any more, but I'm looking forward to him waving at us through that downtown hotel window <3 (and the guest appearances!!! Dana is delightful I am very much looking forward to the upcoming episode)

My son and I found this Podcast and he fell in love with it. We would listen together on walks during the pandemic and school was from home. He's a huge fan of Maintenance Phase too and thankfully will still have that to hear Michaels voice, but he just said "I'd still love to listen with just Sarah!!" So you do indeed have a very passionate tween audience of at least one. I realize most parents would NOT listen to this stuff with their 10/11 year old, but the talks it's inspired have been amazing. So sad to lose Mike, so pleased to keep Sarah. I do have one question: who will edit the show now? Mike's editing is your secret sauce! I don't listen to many shows as deftly jigsawed together as this one.

Love this pod and you both so much and I full on cried just listening to you saying nice things to each other in that last ep. Glad YWA is not ending and can’t wait to see what’s next.

In seriousness, when I listened to you and Michael talking about feelings changing about how you feel about the podcast, it felt so relatable for me. I too am at a career “conundrum” and am exhausted, so while I’m sad that Michael feels that way, I absolutely get it. I feel similarly in my line of work right now so I can’t hate at all. One thing I didn’t get (maybe I missed this - my attention span is shit because of aforementioned career stress/crisis) Sarah said that she was also tired. What reinvigorated her and made her decide to continue? Not mad at all! Just curious. I’ll gladly accept new guest eps! Ending with the fact that I’m trying to assess whether it’s worth getting a Marcia Clark tote when I live the other side of the Atlantic…. 🤔
