I definitely think this episode is a real good example of how annoying the flashbacks can get when you’re binging the show but I understand that it’s there because episodes released weekly show and having to wait around a year between each season so people watching when they were coming out probably need a reminder of some moments. What I don’t have an explanation for is the moment when they show us a scene we saw like 2 minutes ago though I just assume they use that as a way to pad out the runtime and save on animation cost.
Season 5 was probably when Studio Bones had it the worst. They had a pretty tight schedule to produce the season (1 year) while also working on the third movie. and you can really notice it in the pacing. The Joint Training arc feels unnecessarily dragged out.
