This is not an accurate representation of GL. Very underwhelming show

I think because people on the internet are so miserable and hate any and everything we’re now starting to get an overcorrection to that reaction in that if you dislike a show then “oh you’re just a twitter loser” people are allowed to dislike and voice their feelings on shows and that’s alright. To be honest this show was just not my thing. Even if you try an say “it’s just a bad GL adaptation” (which I already think is stupid considering just how disrespectful it is to source material) but there’s just so many boneheaded decisions that either take up way to much time or make zero sense.
The finale felt like a Finale. Just didnt satisfy any plot lines. How does everything work out happily ever after? Guy stood up to superman but got ditched by a lantern with no power or backing? Hal was murdered and a marine just let the culprit go. A manhunter (the big bads of episodes 1-4) is still here and says "idk if i can stop myself " but John leaves it all..... this ending is fine. But its not by any means good to me. This was the worst showing of sinestro too
An ending like this is more impressive and cooler than a lack luster cgi fight and this ending also builds up the hype and suspense for man of tomorrow ppl are too childish to see that tho
Dontai u gotta watch the animated first flight movie. This show didn’t do GL justice at all
Bro added discord chat to the screen 💀
It definitely wasn't a terrible ending but we definitely needed one more episode , how are they going to skip past the kid breaking sinestro out of the most secure prison in the entire universe as well as never actually showing the kid us any tech that shows he can break sinistro out and hopefully with next season we'll get actual usage out of the ring
I liked the finale it capped off what it set out to do, but season 2 def needs a bigger budget
It had nothing to do with budget, this is the show the writers and show runners wanted. They had over 10mil an episode and the show takes place in Nebraska with everybody in street clothes. They don't want to do anything cool and space stuff at all. Just go listen to the people who made the show talk about it
so fire. i though the hate was gonna be how predictable it would be but no way i was enjoying every twist.
True Detective season 1 🙏
just got my first car and watching peak with the goat life is great
I loved the first seven episodes, but i just can’t really articulate why i don’t like this finale, without it being an essay. it was extremely mediocre for an amazing series. There’s some stuff i could say, but i’ll only talk about hal’s death, since hal’s my favorite lantern. I do not for a second believe kerry would just shoot him cause she got emotional. I didn’t get that impression of her from the first 7 episodes. Essentially, a cop got emotional, and shot an unarmed man, who was saying how he loved her, to hide her son’s secret. If it had to be kerry shooting him, they should’ve at least made it so hal made a vaguely threatening comment about noah, and she takes it to the extreme, and shoots him. That’s not much better, but still better than shooting hal, when he didn’t once threaten her or noah. Plus, it just didn’t even seem like hal planned to hurt Noah. Also, there was zero reason to try and make zoe sympathetic. I’d get noah, since he was raised as a human, by a loving mom, and he doesn’t appear to have been made like zoe, so i can believe him changing. But it’s ridiculous how they treated zoe’s actions. Also, i saw on x a tweet about how they basically just made john scott, the original green lantern (who isn’t apart of the lantern corp) back with jay (first flash), and they’re kinda right. The new oath’s fine, but i know people are saying that other lanterns have different oaths in the comics, and while that’s true, john and hal have always (maybe, there’s probably some occasions they haven’t) shared the same oath. I just like hal’s oath way better, but it’s not really too big a deal. Edit: just finished the reaction, and john not doing anything about kerry killing hal genuinely pisses me off. The first green lantern and superhero in this universe, and he’s just killed like this, and no justice was served. Also, that girl’s name gotta be larfleeze with how uncontrollably greedy she is. I also just remembered a tweet on x that i actually heavily agree with. This show should’ve been a martian manhunter show. The manhunters never even show their robot forms, so it would be no problem swapping the enemy, and martian MANHUNTER is a detective. This would’ve been so goated. I despise his family’s ending. His parents shouldn’t have been forgiven, just cause he understood that they loved him. Also, tom king’s repetitiveness with making characters suicidal, and cia stuff is both hilarious and fucking annoying, it’s all he does. First, green lantern brings a criminal to Guantanamo Bay, there were alien suicide bombers, and john waterboarded sinestro. I heard (or maybe was lied to) that season 2 is in production. I’ll happily watch that, but i won’t have much faith for the finale if it’s like this finale.
I can't agree in the Kerry part because what she does is out of fear something Hal and John two people trained for this couldn't overcome. Hal had the fear of being replaced and becoming obsolete which pushed him to do the things he did in ep 5 and 4 with that driven home by Halogram in ep.7. John struggled with the fear of disappointing his parent's with he fact he didn't want to be a lantern and up the last scene he doesn't overcome that fear until hmthe oath. Kerry shooting Hal was from having the fear of Noah being found out to be a manhunter,Noah already knowing and planning something bad,Losing everything just like how we met her and the fear of losing her son. All of that dumped onto the shoulder of a normal person in less than a minute would very much make them do somehting drastic and unreasonable when the 2 lanterns we've been watching have struggled and done drastic and unreasonable things with more time to process things. To me Kerry shooting Hal wasn't a thought and was a reaction of the load of fear dropped onto her making her go to the extreme to protect her kid. John says it in the episode of how much struggle it is to hold your breath for your child and that she does the same. Imo Kerry shot Hal expecting him to block it with the ring like the first time she shot at him but the sheer amount of fear and the mindset she was dumped into of fight or flight made her shoot him people irl have done similar things. Ofc its fucked up but i think it makes sense that a normal person would collapse under that fear when we've seen the lanterns(all 3) and the Manhunter buckle to it. Zoe i don't think is all of a sudden sympathetic she regretted killing Aban Sur and talked about how she was forced to because of the programming she has. Its less so making her sympathetic and more so her knowing she cant stop because of her programming and being able to resist it for that sevind John shoots her. I agree the 8 ep time constraint rushed Noahs arc even if it was hinted towards at the diner, him dropping of Johns suit and him wanting to play the last game before picking a team. John not doing anything to Kerry also makes sense if she dissapers him placing faith that Noah can overcome his programming like he did would just amount to nothing and he wouod have to kill him right there. He also does something similar that Hal did with his father by hiding the truth and carrying that burden so others can live there lives except in this case the cyle doesn't continue because John knows it was out of fear and pain rather than on purpose. John has always loved his family and came to the understanding of why they did it a while ago and while he still held em far that just plays into why he reconnected. John was raised missing his family so it makes sense that after embracing his fear he doesn't want to push them away anymore and gets closer to them. He embraces that fear of losing them and disappointing them and pushes towards another thing he fears which was getting close to them.
The more i watch this the more they make the green lantern look like a bitch 😭😭😭 cuz why he struggled to get out a burning house
He struggled like A NORMAL 60 YEAR OLD MAN WOULD
Never trust a person from Gotham, bringing all their nasty criminal mentality with em.
W Gotham racism
Mogo and I watched this reaction
Butt finale
FIRE
The parallels between the characters is so good
I pray this doesnt get a sequel💀
Matt rhule 😂
Love lanterns can't wait for s2 🟩🏮💡
I love how people disappointed themselves by hyping up fan theories lmao. I'm not saying the finale was a 10/10 but it was not ass.
Yooo I don't know if he ever would or seen already but justice league and justice league unlimited reaction would be fire.
What a well written show man this shit was peak through and through. The whole commentary on escaping our "programming" (our childhood conditioning vs our true natural nature) is super interesting imo and anyone hating on the ending just doesn't understand what this show was really about
Just watched this on my own before you dropped your reaction, and here’s my honest thought process The show could’ve done with at least one more episode before this one. For example: It felt like we jumped right through Noah’s arc for the sake of time management. Revealing the killer is one thing, but we needed at least a little more development for it being Noah as the motivation for it and for him being half manhunter. Also it being Kerry was definitely alongside the theories I saw of her doing it to protect Noah, but she didn’t even need to do it, so fuck her. Idk I have a lot of thoughts but I actually liked the finale, though I’d say the first half of the season was better still.
Can’t wait for you to watch Chuck now dontai ❤️
