Sorry, still no update
Rendering was a pain the last few days (or is it weeks already?), it takes so much time... Yesterday I was only able to finish 6 render while rendering all day... six! Render! Every single render took a minimum of two hours, some even over three! >_>
That was really frustrating and I have no idea how I ever managed to get an update done with only a gtx 1060 in the early days... well the quality has improved a lot since then, but still...
I was really trying to get at least a test version done this week like promised, I tried... but it won't work, I think I drank so much coffee over the week that it would be enough to provide an entire office with coffee...
So after sleeping much longer than usual today I realised that I've overdone it a bit lately and that I need to step back/ease up a bit.
What this means is that I will take this weekend off and have an actual weekend for a change (yay), next week I should get a new grafics card which should fasten things up a lot (yay²) and for the rest of the month I will try to get a test version done, without pushing myself too much this time (yay³).
By now the content of day 9 is so much more than I had planned that I really think about putting day 10 in another update, so there is a big chance that if the test version is done, I'll make it the full update.
One more thing: I know some of you might only have changed to the Stalker/Tester tier for the promised test version last month, so if anyone wants their money back, send me a message.

You're better off with twin 1080 TI's than any 2000 series. They outperform the 2000 series and only the 3000 series are worth the upgrade. It's cheaper and better to just get a 1080 or a pair of 1080s. 3080 would be great but you can't even find them atm.
But a 2080ti for free is better than a 1080 not for free^^
Hello, new patron here. I have technical questions to you BM: What GPU are you using for rendering now and what GPU are you planning to buy next week? And for rendering are you using Blender or DAZ? Are you using for rendering some dedicated PC (some chep old PC with 1 or two used GPUs)?
For rendering I use Daz, but I use blender from time to time to create some objects. My render pc is a ryzen 7 2700x, 48gb ram, used to have two gpu's, the gpu that died was a 1070 and I'll get a 2080ti from a friend, it's on it's way already ;) I have a second pc with only a 1060 6gb that I can use for other stuff, but it's too slow for rendering.
I wish someone would come up with a way to crowdsource rendering, so you just have an app running in the background and donate your cycles to the creators you support.
that would be neat, but then again I have real shitty internet and do a lot of custom stuff, so I'd have to wait for the upload of all the assets everytime and that would make the advantage of cloud rendering irrelevant, it might be even slower :(
