Ok, for what it is worth, I figured out how to make the patch that was posted on Oct 10 work after all. The problem was that in the unzip process - or perhaps before it was zipped - some numbers were appended to the front end of the patch file. If you put that into the "Game" folder, it doesn't overwrite the original "events" file and the game doesn't pick it up. The fix is to unzip the patch file in another folder and then immediately rename the file, deleting the extraneous numbers, leaving only "events_mc.rpy". Copy that renamed file into the "Game" folder and allow it to overwrite the old events_mc.rp file. After that, the game will permit the story to advance when you leave the house to go to the office. I started from a save just before the birthday party and everything worked as expected.

I'm working on a fix.

Well, he posted a patch on F95 but it didn't fix the problem. He also said we could start the game over from the beginning and that should fix it, which is annoying. Not sure this is worth the hassle.

it keeps repeating days is there a way to avoid this or will it eventually stop?

Tried v3. Seems to have a bugged link. Got to the point where MC is leaving to check out his new office but the only links outside go to the high school or downtown. repeating the gift shopping trip.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this to you, but, the game over placeholder from the end of the last update is still there.
