Lifelines - A Realistic Health Mod | Preview

Lifelines Health — health for every chapter 🌿

Lifelines, my growing health gameplay mod for The Sims 4! I wanted health to feel like part of a Sim’s everyday story: the first symptoms, a doctor’s appointment, a care plan, support from family, and the little steps that lead to recovery.

Everything starts in the Lifelines phone app, where you can open records for your human household members and manage their care. This is the 0.5.8 alpha, with everyday illness, ongoing conditions, mental-health care, dental and vision care, and injuries with visible casts.

🌱 Everyday health & medical records

Seasonal colds, stomach bugs, respiratory bugs, and sinus trouble bring symptoms, diagnoses, and recovery. The first three can spread within your active household when transmission is enabled. Each Sim has a medical record with symptoms, ongoing diagnoses, appointments, care plans, bills, and recent history.

Manage prescription supplies and refills, follow care plans, arrange an eight-hour supportive rest period, or have another household member help with care. Patient and caregiver moodlets reflect that support. Rest supports recovery without forcing sleep or cancelling work.

📅 Doctor appointments & hospital care

Book routine checkups, sick visits, specialist reviews, and the different treatment appointments through the app. Treatment-specific recovery requirements and therapy spacing still apply.

Appointments are rabbit-hole visits: your Sim leaves the lot and returns with results, treatment, and a bill after completing the visit. Cancelled visits can be retried without a treatment charge. Serious events—including heart attacks, severe COPD exacerbations, and severe high-glucose emergencies—have a six-hour hospital-care pathway followed by recovery. There are no fatal outcomes.

🩺 Ongoing conditions & neurodevelopmental profiles

Included: *asthma, recurring migraines, allergies, PCOS, coronary heart disease, COPD, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, autism, arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, ADHD, depression, and anxiety disorder*.

Related events include low-stamina days, breathing difficulties, joint flares, memory confusion, sensory overload, favorite-interest enjoyment, task-initiation difficulty, engaging focus periods, depressive episodes, worry days, and panic attacks. Optional memory-care progression adds increasing support needs without removing skills or relationships.

Use *Health setup to give a Sim an existing condition/profile, or Story events* to start supported events for storytelling. Eligible physical conditions and related events can also occur through simulation. PCOS is manually assigned. Autism and ADHD are lifelong profiles, not illnesses that care removes.

🧠 Mental-health care

Start with a therapy intake, then build an ongoing plan with sessions every three Sim-days and weekly reviews. Practice grounding, journaling, or a manageable daily routine through the app. Consistent sessions, practice, and household support build coping confidence and reduce the chance of new depression/anxiety events.

Progress is gradual, difficult days can still happen, and taking a break does not erase learned confidence. Sims can start therapy without an existing diagnosis. These are app-based care choices rather than animated therapy sessions.

👓 Vision care & glasses you choose

Book an eye exam for a chance of receiving a glasses prescription. Pick your own frames in *Create a Sim, return wearing them, and Register current frames* in Lifelines. Add that pair to the outfits where you want relief.

Eligible adult Sims can seek LASIK approval, have surgery, recover for 48 Sim-hours, and attend a follow-up before glasses are no longer required. Approval is chance-based and saved. Cosmetic glasses stay on until you remove them yourself.

🦷 Dental care

Dental checkups include cleaning and can uncover cavities. Treat early cavities with fillings; advanced cavities need a root canal or extraction. Untreated cavities can worsen, and treatment brings a short tenderness period. A daily dental-care plan helps reduce new cavity risk. This release does not change visible teeth or include braces.

🩹 Injuries, visible casts & rehabilitation

Sprained ankles, back strains, broken arms, and complex leg fractures have a care journey: *assessment → treatment → healing → review → rehabilitation → clearance*. Complex leg fractures require surgery.

Broken-arm treatment applies a visible white forearm cast; leg-fracture surgery applies a lower-leg cast. Adult feminine/masculine and child fits are included—no separate cast download needed. Casts stay through healing and come off at the healing review. You can choose a fit or hide the cast without changing recovery.

Physical therapy and daily home exercises build rehabilitation progress. Overexertion can be selected as a story setback. Injuries can happen through rare random rolls or be assigned manually. There are no crutches, limping animations, or forced movement restrictions in this build.

👶 Newborn & infant profiles

Newborns and infants receive a saved profile roll when first encountered, including infants already present when you install. Autism and ADHD can be present as unrecognized profiles, with age-appropriate events and later recognition. Asthma, allergies, and type 1 diabetes can receive susceptibility flags for later condition selection, rather than guaranteed diagnoses.

Choose Low, Standard, or Higher chances and optional family-history influence. Results do not reroll on reload. Older Sims are not backfilled, and children encountered while the feature is off are skipped.

⚙️ Your household, your settings

Choose Gentle, Balanced, or Eventful frequency and toggle simulation, household transmission, new costs, notifications, chronic events, emergencies, memory-care progression, newborn profiles, family influence, and random injuries.

Medical bills do not block access to care; pay them from household funds when you choose. Turning costs off stops new charges without erasing existing bills. Custom menu and moodlet artwork accompanies the care systems.

🎮 Test without waiting

The included HTML player guide has jump-to-section buttons, searchable visit costs, and expandable cheat recipes with copy buttons. Press *Ctrl+Shift+C and use lifelines.test_list* to see the available keys. Recipes cover casts, healing, rehab, illness, emergencies, therapy, dental care, glasses, LASIK, and newborn profiles. Instant completion tests visit results without running the rabbit-hole trip.

Installation & alpha notes

Close the game, extract the download, and put *Lifelines.package and Lifelines.ts4script together in Mods/Lifelines/. Remove older duplicates, enable Custom Content and Mods plus Script Mods Allowed, and restart. Open Phone → Lifelines → Open Lifelines*. No extra script library is required. This is an English build.

Please use a test save and back up *Lifelines_Data.json* with your save. This alpha is still being refined. Visits support children and older; accompanied infant/toddler visits and playable hospitals are not included as of yet.

Casts use the right-bracelet slot and restore displaced bracelets after recovery. Long clothing or extreme body shapes may clip. Hide/remove casts through Lifelines before uninstalling.

The health systems use fictional gameplay probabilities and care plans. PCOS does not alter fertility, diabetes does not model real glucose readings or dosing, and condition events mainly use moodlets, records, and timed support.

Thank you for helping me shape Lifelines! When reporting an issue, include your loaded version, what happened, the steps to reproduce it, and Lifelines.log or betterexceptions. 💚

Hey! I have LOVED this mod! I usually use Health Redux, Vision, and Dental Care, so I love having everything together. One thing I’d love to see though is less back-and-forth with the Lifeline app. It would be nice to schedule an appointment and then have a “Go to Appointment” option without the app closing and having to reopen everything. I’d also love to be able to set multiple conditions at once, like anxiety + depression + migraines, and schedule multiple appointments all within the app. Being able to handle everything in one place without the app closing each time would make it so much smoother! Otherwise, I really love this!

Can you make some parts of the mod an add-on to adeepingo’s healthcare redux mod? (like what kemzima did, It would be so cool!) Also, will you add like crutches, wheelchairs, etc with like boots, arm and leg casts, etc? (i already saw you were working on it maybe it’s just a separate mod). PS. Love all your mods BTW!! 💕 I unfortunately have to cancel the membership soon because I just started college as a freshman and working out with finance so hopefully soon I can use my PC that’s at home to play your mods cause i’m OBSESSED!!!

Curious if there ever will be fatal outcomes? If not that's fine!

JellyPaws · September 10, 2026

i can def add it as an option in the settings, I didn't include it in this version just in-case the events were happening too often. Next update i'll include that :)

Do any of these clash with anyone or adeepindigo mods?

J
JellyPaws · September 10, 2026

They don’t directly conflict, but some of the systems do overlap. Each mod offers different features, and mine includes several new and unique additions, so I’d recommend comparing the feature lists and choosing whichever best suits your gameplay. You can also keep both installed since the systems shouldn’t clash, though having similar features from both may be a little confusing in-game.
