🍃 Pocket Pods update — v0.79.7

Here’s how to update while keeping your little colony:

1. Click Save game in your current game, then close it.

2. Download the attached Windows ZIP.

3. Right-click the ZIP and choose Extract All. Extract it into a new folder.

4. Open that folder and double-click PocketPods.exe.

Your existing progress should load automatically when playing on the same computer and Windows account. Saves are stored separately from the game folder. 💚

Keep PocketPods.exe and PocketPods.pck together, and don’t run the game directly inside the ZIP. If you use a desktop shortcut, replace it with one pointing to the new version.

Optional backup: press Windows + R, paste %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Pocket Pods, and copy colony.json somewhere safe before updating.

Pocket Pods — Early Access for Windows

Pocket Pods is a cute 2D isopod collecting and breeding game. Build your colony, decorate its terrarium, grow food, and raise new generations of pods.

Features available now:

• Collect 24 illustrated morphs across six colors and four patterns. Record your discoveries in the Podex.

• Breed your pods to combine inherited colors and patterns, with a chance of mutations.

• Raise babies in a protected nursery. Watch eggs develop and crack, hatch them with an animated reveal, and move youngsters into your terrarium.

• Watch them grow from small babies into juveniles and adults.

• Care for your colony by misting, feeding, cleaning the substrate, and offering cucumber snacks.

• Decorate with 14 different items, including mushrooms, moss, hides, a leaf hammock, a bridge, a pebble pool, and crystals.

• Expand your terrarium to hold up to 18 residents.

• Grow special foods. Plant, water, and harvest carrots, strawberries, and pumpkins. Store your harvests and feed them to your pods for different care benefits.

• Adopt wild isopods that occasionally visit your garden.

• Pick up and poke your pods. Watch them crawl around your open hand, with eight skin tones to choose from.

• Rename individual pods and your terrarium.

• Earn leaf coins for seeds, decorations, breeding, and upgrades.

• Save your progress automatically, with growth continuing while you’re away.

This is a single-player early-access build for 64-bit Windows. It runs offline without a browser, account, or separate game-engine installation.

To play: download the ZIP, extract the whole folder, and open PocketPods.exe. Keep PocketPods.pck and the included files beside it.
