📚 Realistic School v0.5.6

This one's almost entirely fixes, and they all came from you. Thank you to everyone who took the time to describe what went wrong instead of quietly uninstalling. 💙

🚫 No more unfair absences

The big one. The error was seeing "I didn't see them go to school" as "they skipped school." Those are very different things, So:

• Children on unplayed lots were marked absent every single day, tanking their grades and putting them at risk of being held back while you weren't even playing them.

• Winter and summer breaks counted as missed school. Your Sims were being told off for not attending a school that was closed.

• Sims who moved out kept having their grades wrecked and kept sending you notifications about children you no longer had anything to do with.

All three are gone. A school day now only counts if the mod genuinely saw what happened, and breaks and holidays are read from the game's own school schedule. Sims you aren't playing are left completely alone their record simply waits until you play them again.

If you rotate households: an unplayed household's grades now pause rather than drifting in the background.

🎓 Sims now actually finish school

If your Sim aged up to young adult, they'd keep their entire school record — including the Falling Behind moodlet. Someone reported a grown adult still failing school, which is very funny and entirely my fault.

Ageing past teen now properly ends it: every school moodlet cleared, no more updates, and a "Finished School" notification with their final GPA. Their report card becomes a summary of how it all went, honor roll and repeated years included. Anyone currently stuck as an eternal student is fixed automatically when you load.

🔧 Already got a wrecked save? One command

Open the cheat console with Ctrl + Shift + C and type:

rs.repair

That restores subjects dragged down unfairly, clears any held-back status, wipes false absences and missing assignments, and lifts self-esteem back to a healthy level for everyone in your household. One Sim at a time with rs.repair FirstName LastName.

📝 Catching up on homework actually works

• Extra Credit now clears missing assignments, not just Make Up Homework — the game often only offers Extra Credit, so that was the option most of you actually had.

• Clears one assignment per half hour, up to two a night, and tells you how many are left.

• Pays out straight away instead of at the end of the day.

• Shorter sessions count now; the old bar was higher than a real session usually runs.

Homework is also recognized far more reliably, including for teens where it sometimes wasn't registering at all. And putting the homework away no longer counts as doing it. 😅

📥 How to update

1. Delete the old school mod files folder from your Mods folder.

2. Drop the new ones in.

3. Fully restart the game

4. If your grades took a hit, run rs.repair once.

Your saves are safe, everything carries over.
