Grudges gives every Sim in your world a memory. Cross someone and they carry it for weeks. And you have to actually earn your way back. 🥀

📓 Everything goes in the ledger

Every unpleasant thing one Sim does to another gets written down — insults, arguments, fights, pranks, gossip, breakups, being turned down. Each one carries a weight, and that weight fades slowly over about three Sim-weeks.

Until it fades, they have not forgotten. And it is not vague: the mod knows exactly what you did and when.

🤝 Apologise — properly

Apologize Properly only appears when they genuinely hold something against you, so it doubles as a signal that you have work to do.

• Charisma helps. A silver tongue really does get you further

• A big fresh grudge is hard to clear; an old faded one is easy

• Once per Sim-day per person

And the part I like most: a failed apology makes it worse. If it does not land, that becomes its own entry in the ledger. You cannot grind your way to forgiveness by clicking the same button ten times. 💔

🌧️ Moodlets mean something

Being in the same room as someone you resent puts your Sim in a mood about it. A petty grudge and a serious one read completely differently:

• Holding a Grudge — they have not forgotten what happened, and being near that Sim is not helping

• Has Not Forgiven Them — some things do not just blow over. Every time that Sim walks in, it all comes back

• Cleared the Air — it was said properly, and it was heard properly. That is a weight off

• That Was Not an Apology — they came over, said words, and somehow made it worse

🛡️ Built to stay out of the way

• ✅ Overrides no EA tuning and replaces no EA function. It reads interactions that have already finished — it never intercepts or changes them

• ✅ Does not touch the relationship system. Grudges live in their own ledger, so nothing fights with your other relationship mods

• ✅ No hardcoded IDs. Offences are matched on tuning names, so every pack's socials are recognised and patch day does not break it

• ✅ Base game. No packs required, all packs supported

• ✅ Saved per save game, so your different saves never bleed into each other

💻 Install

Drop both files into your Mods folder:

• Grudges.package

• Grudges.ts4script

Turn on Enable Custom Content and Mods and Script Mods Allowed in Game Options → Other, then restart.

⚠️ Script mods only load one folder deep — Mods/Grudges/ is perfect, Mods/Scripts/Mine/Grudges/ will not load.

🔧 Commands

Ctrl+Shift+C for the console:

• grudge.list — every live grudge in your save, worst first

• grudge.why — what your active Sim is carrying, and who resents them

• grudge.sweep — re-check moodlets right now

• grudge.menu — re-add the pie menu entries if they go missing

• grudge.clear — forgive everything, everywhere

Try grudge.list after a few days of play. Seeing who in your town is quietly furious with whom is worth the price of admission on its own. 🍿
