Realistic Life Events
Life happens while you're not watching.
Your Sim leaves for work. Ten minutes later, a card appears:
A CAR IS COMING AT YOU FAST
Ava is halfway through the junction when headlights swing wide into the wrong lane and keep coming. There is no time to think.
Swerve left · Slam the brakes · Hold your line · Horn, lights, everything
You pick. You don't get to see the odds. Most of the time she arrives at work shaken and that's the end of it. Once in a very long while, she doesn't arrive at all.
What's in this release
This first release is the Road & Travel family, built deep rather than wide — 19 chance cards covering everything from a blown tire and a missed bus to a drunk driver weaving across the white line.
2 to 4 choices per card, and the odds are never shown. Real decisions are made without a percentage on screen.
Your Sim actually matters. Traits, skills, mood, and how rested and fed they were all shift the outcome behind the scenes and the result tells you what tipped it. "In the end it came down to reflexes that have been trained."
Three cards written specially for children, who ride as passengers and choose whether to shout a warning, brace, or freeze.
Both kinds of journey. Cards fire live while a Sim is at work or school, and retroactively when they arrive somewhere: "On the drive over, a car came at you fast…"
Injuries that actually heal
A broken bone reads Broken for two days, Sprained for two, Sore for one, and then it's gone. You watch your Sim recover instead of watching a moodlet vanish at midnight. Six stages, with mood and needs penalties along the way, and medical bills that never take a household below zero.
And, rarely, worse
Fatal outcomes are switched OFF by default. If you turn them on, the very worst results can permanently kill a Sim. There is no undo.
On the default frequency that works out to roughly one fatal accident per 1,600 Sim days for a four-Sim household rare enough that a short save will never meet it, real enough that a long legacy might. Your choice on the card matters enormously: on the flagship card, the reckless option is about thirteen times deadlier than the careful one.
You're in control of all of it
Click any Sim → Realistic Life Events:
Life Event History — everything that's happened to this Sim, the choice you made, and how it turned out. Scattered popups become a life story.
Health & Status — current injuries with days remaining.
Settings — frequency from Off through Rare, Normal, Frequent and Chaos; every event family toggled independently; fatal outcomes; medical bills; and a daily cap so a big household never gets buried in popups.
At most one card is ever open at a time, each Sim gets a twelve-hour cooldown, and a Sim recovering from something serious gets three days of peace.
What's coming
Many features are planned, bringing this to around 80 events in total:
Injury & Illness — the broken arm in the school game, food poisoning, the flu, an elder's nasty fall
Work & Career — accidents on site, a boss who blows up, being asked to cover a double
School & Youth — fights in the corridor, caught copying, picked for the team
Money & Legal — a bill you weren't expecting, a lost wallet, a bank error in your favour
Positive & Lucky — cash on the pavement, a stranger's kindness, a small inheritance
Install
Drop the RealisticLifeEvents folder into your Mods folder so you have:
Mods/RealisticLifeEvents/RealisticLifeEvents.package
Mods/RealisticLifeEvents/RealisticLifeEvents.ts4script
Script mods must sit at most one folder deep, and Script Mods must be enabled in Game Options → Other.
Base game only. No packs required. No libraries, no S4CL, no bundled CC. It overrides no EA tuning and no EA behaviour at all, so it should sit comfortably alongside whatever else you run.
One honest note about death. The Sims 4 won't let a mod add a new cause of death without replacing the game's entire death list which would break other mods and any future patch. So a Sim killed on the road is recorded by the game as having died in a fire, which is the closest thing available. The mod's own notification and the event history tell you what really happened.
Troubleshooting
Nothing's happening. Events only fire while a Sim is away — send someone to work and let time run. If it still doesn't, check that the frequency isn't set to Off in Settings.
No pie menu. Script Mods are probably disabled in Game Options, or the .ts4script is more than one folder deep in Mods.
There's a log file, RealisticLifeEvents_Log.txt, sitting next to your Mods folder. If something goes wrong, that's the file to send me.

I’d love to see more age-specific events. I play with a lot of younger Sims, including pre-teens, and some events like driving and/or avoiding a car wreck feel out of place for them. Having events that are more specific to what each age group would realistically experience would be really cool! Something to consider!
Is there a Spanish translation?
i subscribed (because you require me to pay $3 to even view the contents of some of your mods), so i might as well comment. i would really love a lot of these mods if they didn't all add pie menu bloat. for example, Housing Authority - i'm playing a generational save and i have a stacked mod list. maybe 2 of every 10 generations is going to genuinely need housing assistance. you're telling me every time i click on a sim i have to see the "Housing Authority" bubble? WHY can't this be managed via computer or phone, or somewhere less invasive, like everything else in the game? the same for Burnout - amazing mod idea but why on earth do i have to see "How are you holding up?" when i click on my sims? EVERY sim? EVERY time? make it sit behind an existing pie menu section that logically ties into my existing pie menus, otherwise it's just noise. you really ought to consider also sharing some strings or screenshots. asking people for $3 to even view the contents of some of your mod posts (talking about Drama Life specifically here) only to AFTER paying for it, see how sloppy the very minimal strings you shared are, and how they don't align with the sims tone whatsoever, really sucks. i'm a firm believer in AI - it is both the future empowering the everyman, and a completely valid creative tool - but you need to learn how to prompt it. as it stands, you're adding a ton of breadth and no depth. there is no ergonomic landscape to your mods, just seemingly good content hidden behind poor implementation - which is where real creativity and thought comes in. AI knows what "sounds good" but not how the game plays or feels. and not how it actually feels to click a sim and see the same exact hyper-niche pie menu button for the 500th time, when you're just trying to do something entirely unrelated. hope some of this helps you. your ideas are good but they lack the finesse of a real mod creator. i hope you're able to adjust for that and create synergy with your mods someday. i'll be watching for it.
thank you for the wonderful feedback! A universal section in the phone that would store all the menus for the mods is a great idea.
love it so much its so real i almost had a heart attack a notification popped up about a crazy driver i had to think fast for her jump out the way and call 911
Ilike your mods a lot. I hope you can make them so they is functional with other languages. It's som much more fun to play when it's more realistic and some unexpected things happens.
you’re quite literally gag me every time you upload a mod🙂↕️🫶🏽luv youu jellyyyy
Does the illness and injury’s conflict with any mods? Like adeepindigo heathredux
no conflicts :)
1st- AMAZING how do you think/do these amazing mods?? 2nd- Any chance the injuries can be compatible with healthcare redux in the future?
Yes I will be making a compatible update soon. :)
