Announcing Rúna
So this is the thing I've been quietly working on: Rúna, a cozy pixel-art farming and survival game.
You start somewhere new and make it home. Grow crops, raise animals, go fishing, poke around caves, build out your place, and settle into the seasons. That's pretty much the vibe. Chill, but with enough going on to keep you busy.
A few things that are in so far:
Farming with real depth. Till the land, grow a bunch of different crops, upgrade your tools, set up sprinklers, and aim for higher-quality harvests (occasionally a crop goes giant, which never stops being funny).
Animals all over the place: cows, sheep, goats, deer, elk, rabbits, chickens, horses you can ride, and a cat.
Fishing.
Caves you explore by torchlight. There's a day/night lighting system, so nights actually feel dark.
Building and decorating your homestead. Chests, fences, the works.
A little economy. Sell stuff at the shop or toss it in the shipping bin overnight for coins.
Some things that fight back. Crows go after your crops (scarecrows help), and deer and rabbits will raid an unfenced field at night.
And a WHOLE lot more coming soon.
I put together a short teaser so you can actually see it moving. It's all real in-game art.
On the obvious question: there's no release date yet. It's still in development and I'd rather get it right than throw out a date I can't keep. I'll be posting progress here as I go, so following along is the best way to keep up.
If you want to support the project or just lurk and watch it come together, either way, glad to have you here.
