2021 August 5th - Added a fix interaction for those who are experiencing the bug where they can't pay back loans. If you are experiencing this please install this new version and go to the save that is affected, click on the pack and choose "Take Over Loan" (different from the one where household sims die), and ownership will be added to your sim. You should be able to pay the loans now.

Original Description (edited to merge in newest features info): Your sims (teen and up) can now apply for loans from SimCity Bank. When your sim needs a loan have them click on the computer and select SimCity Loans. From there you will select which loan amount you want.
Loan Amounts include:
§1,000
§5,000
§10,000
§25,000
§50,000
§100,000
§250,000
§500,000
Once you select the loan amount, your sim will receive a Loan Packet in their inventory (which is not delete-able). Your sim will then be responsible for repaying it! When repaying the loan, you have two options:
Repay in full with no interest.
Make 12, 24, or 36 payments which includes a 5% interest rate.
If your sim doesn’t make a payment (or pay in full) within 48 hours, he/she will receive a Loan Payment Due (fine mood) buff. Once you receive the Loan Payment Overdue buff, a 5% late fee (5% of your payment) will be deducted shortly after, and if your sim ignores this buff for 24 hours, this buff will turn into a Loan Payment Overdue! (stressful mood) buff. After the first late fee, they will be deducted about every 24 hours until your sim makes a payment. If your sim is at work, the late fees will be deducted shortly after they get home. If you don't have enough Simoleons for the late fee, it will deduct when you do. The only way to remove this is to make a payment (or pay in full).
If your Debtor sim dies, the loan packet will be sent to the household inventory (still not delete-able). After you place it on your lot, another household sim can use the Take Over Loan interaction. This will add the loan packet to that sim’s inventory and he/she will be responsible. Don’t worry, any payments that the deceased sim made won’t be lost!
If your Debtor sim dies and gets added back to the household either as a ghost or resurrected, they won’t have the loan packet anymore (obviously since it went to the household inventory). However, they can’t take out a loan. They’ll have to use the computer and click on SimCity Loans > Request Loan Forgiveness (which will cost §1,000), then after 3 days they can apply for a loan again if needed.
♦ Additional Information ♦
Sims can only have one active loan at a time. However, once your sim pays off the loan, you can click on the loan packet and select Destroy. Your sim can then take out another loan if desired.
The loan packet is not drag-able! This was done on purpose to keep it in your sims inventory for needed buffs and interaction availability. It’s also not delete-able, for obvious reasons….no skipping out on your debt!
If you move your household while the loan packet is on the lot (after placing it from the household inventory), it can be found in the household inventory once again. No running away from it until it’s paid!
NOTE – If you use Basemental Drugs and your Sim gets arrested, they will lose their loan packet as well. If this happens, you’ll have to use the Request Loan Forgiveness option on the computer.
Requirements & Conflicts
Base game compatible and no known conflicts. It should work well with other loan type mods. Does not contribute to the script limit.

This mod it's already great because it takes out the need to use money cheats and leave this slightly more realistic but I hope it be updated for more low, medium and bigger options, like 150k and 200k

It's been years since I first found this mod but I want to thank you for keeping it updated! I was a chronic money cheater and this mod changed my gameplay for the better! I was worried when Scarlett retired but so grateful that you adopted it! Thanks again!

I apologize for how quiet I've been and the lack of updates for my mods, it has been a very tough year for me as I've been struggling with depression and things happening in life that made it worse and kept me busy. this was in her post
Will it be updated for the current game version?
i have a teen sim who lives alone and she took out a loan but there was never a loan packet in her inventory yet she is being asked to pay her loan. Its also not in her household inventory. With young adults and up, I never had the issue of the loan packet missing from the inventory.
There's nothing missing in the mod for teens, so likely another mod or game mechanic has interfered and removed the packet somehow. Like Basemental, which is listed in the mod description as a way for the pack to disappear. If you figure out what removed it let me know, in case someone else comes by with a similar issue.

It works fine. Make sure you have the caches cleared (tutorial if unfamiliar: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/delete-cache-files/), the latest game version, the latest mod version installed in your main mods folder or only one sub-folder deep, and turned on scripts in your game settings. i added the mod to my game but when i go to bank and click on it from the partners load options, it keeps giving me a message saying i haven't installed the mod with a link to this page .
Try re-downloading and clear your localthumbcache (tutorial if unfamiliar: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/delete-cache-files/). But otherwise you'll need to go to SimRealist as whatever that message is is on their end, I have no control over it.
Is anyone else having trouble with this mod? I had it 2 months ago and it worked perfectly. I updated my mods after the last patch and I can't find the option for the loans anymore in-game. I even tried to delete the files and redownload and still nothing. I've gotten it to work before so I am confused at what is wrong
Make sure the script and package are in your main mods folder or only one sub-folder deep, no duplicates, clear your avatarcache and localthumbcache, and make sure mods are enabled. If you need further help go to the Discord.
Is this mod going to be updated for the most recent update?
Doesn't need one, it's compatible. :o Please check the main patch status post for a mod's status.
Is it possible to make a payment different than either paying in full or the minimum payments (I.E: I'm playing a historical challenge so if my sim makes enough money I'd like to have them throw extra money at the loan instead of waiting for the minimum to be due.
I've been wanting to see if I can add this option, so it is on my to-do list!
Mod is not working for me. I took out the old version, put in the new and cleared my cache. When a loan payment is due it won't let me click on the packet to make a payment and it's not letting me know when the loan is due.
Make sure you don't have any old files somewhere in your folder and try downloading it again (and test it without other mods to be sure another mod isn't touching the packet).
hello! love the loans in the sims 4. just having some troubles i think. my sim loaned 50 000 simoleons, she payed it all back and got a message saying she paid it all. but then she still got 24 more payments left, like it all started over again and i didn't loan any more money. do you know how i can fix this? thank you! xx
Hello! To fix it you could try loading the game up without the mod installed, save, add it back and reload, that should clear it out.
