🚀 Steam Launch & Beyond! Future plans and a new patch now available for Patrons!
Hello everyone! 👽
It's been an amazing Steam launch and we've had an enormous amount of feedback!
A brand new 0.23.3 patch is now available for supporters on Patreon, which focuses on some common suggestions, QOL features and bug fixes. Following successful testing by our Patreon community, version 0.23.3 will roll out to Steam.
Current Focus: Polishing the Experience
I’ve been closely monitoring Discord and Steam discussions to prioritize the updates that matter most.
Desktop QoL Overhaul: We’ve welcomed a ton of new Desktop players so I’ve added a brand-new Settings Menu featuring:
Custom Resolutions, Screen Mode, V-Sync, and Frame Rate lock.
Mouse Sensitivity sliders.
New Control: Hold the middle mouse button in Sandbox mode to pan the camera with ease.
Enhanced VR Onboarding: Helping new Captains get into the action faster!
A new Tutorial Computer in the title screen to help onboard new players.
New Video Tutorials for essential mechanics like the wrist computer and camera repositioning.
Gameplay Refinements:
Galaxy map controls are now more natural and intuitive.
Dual-Shoulder Ammo: You can now grab ammo over either shoulder for better combat flow.
Visual Clarity:
Updated the help screen with an easier to read layout.
Bug fixes:
Fixed Steam VR action manifest path. Hand pose tracking for Oculus touch, and Valve Index finger tracking is now working properly.
Novas green energy particle was not always functioning correctly.
Improved Hinakos chair collision accuracy.
Future plans:
On the Horizon: (The Very Next Patch) Once the above is live on Steam, I’m jumping straight into:
Desktop Key Rebinding for control customization.
More Save Checkpoints for smoother progression.
Smart Popup Hints to guide you through core mechanics like reloading.
More bug fixes!
The Future: Once these patches are released I'll begin working on more fun stuff!
New sandbox environments.
Additional clothing and hair styles for Male and Female characters.
New toys and gadgets for the sandbox.
New props to construct your scenes.
Suggestions, Optimisations and further QOL improvements.
And much more!
Soon after the first content drop, development will begin on the next chapter of the campaign:
Improvements to gameplay systems and mechanics.
New Mission Content: Development of the next story mission and objectives.
The Arsenal: Development of new weapons.
New Threats: Designing new enemy types and AI behaviours.
Let me know in the comments which features and improvements you want to see the most ✨
Quest Standalone Version: I'll soon be returning to Quest development and plan to release multiple small, quick updates with clothing, hair and environments ported from the latest PC version. Thank you for your patience while I focus on the Steam launch, and keep an eye on the Discord for news!
There's a lot more planned for Captain Hardcore, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward in Early Access. Thank you for being part of the journey! 👽👽👽

just played through the first part, absolutely luv it so far. exactly what i was hoping for. extremely looking forward to updates and added content. i believe how and what variety of new roguelike dungeons added going forward will determine this games longevity, but so far its tons of fun and looks great. keep up the great wrk
Do you have a date for the next quest update? I’ve been following along but haven’t seen any new updates in over a year since I only have the quest version. Happy to see you haven’t forgot tho!
It would be awesome to add conversational AI like in VR HOT to the Quest version, and also some casual and home clothes
Can you be honest, when will the update for Meta Quest 3 be released that includes the "cum" effect on the avatar's body and face?
I don't care about PC steam version, please do it more often for quest version. Thank you that you exist!
Glad to hear about updates for Quest 🤘🤘🤘
I like the tiny paragraph at the end about the Quest stand alone all the way at the bottom. So sometime next year then?
Don't worry, it'll be much sooner than that! The next Quest update will likely focus on porting new clothing and hair from the latest PC version.
Do you know if there's going to be Steam Frame support whenever it launches? I plan on getting one if I can whenever it becomes available.
I've requested a dev kit and will do my best to get one ASAP. Hopefully Frame will be able to support Standalone as well as the full version streamed from a PC.
