Roll Lots of Checks with 1d20, Upcoming City of Arches Updates
Hi friend!
This month I have a small update to Uncovered Secrets Volume 2. This one-page guide, inspired from a long-lost article in Dragon Magazine issue 113 back in September 1986, helps you roll large numbers of d20 checks (like attack rolls or saving throws) rolling only a single d20. If you feel like the "one quarter succeed" guideline from the Running Hordes sections of the Lazy DM's Companion or Uncovered Secrets Volume 1 is too simple, this "Rolling Lots of Checks" guideline gives you some variance but still makes it easier to roll dozens (hundreds?) of checks with just a few d20 rolls. Find it on page 23 of Uncovered Secrets Volume 2.
I'm also hard at work on a huge section of the City of Arches called "Sunken Revvia" which talks all about the ruined and dangerous city lying deep beneath the City of Arches. It's like a mini-sourcebook inside a sourcebook suited for adventures for 5th to 11th level play (maybe even higher). Right now it's about 11 pages long and I've commissioned another awesome map from Chloe Bolland to cover the city. I expect to have it in your hands in January 2023 but if you want a sneak rough preview, you can check out the preview here.
More exciting things are going on in the future of Sly Flourish as well including a one-on-one adventure for Patreons and a new Kickstarter with my friends and fellow designers Scott Fitzgerald Gray and Teos Abadia! Here's a sneak preview of the cover!
Have a great holidays and a happy new year!

Hi, I'm logged in and have the Hero tier subscription, but I can't access the links to Uncovered Secrets (either volume). It gives an access denied error - I tried both from my laptop and iPad. Anyone else have this issue? Or any suggestions? I tried sending a direct message on Patreon but haven't gotten a response.
Hi there! I had to update the links. You can always find the most current rewards here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/exclusive-for-34953933
Hey MIke, do you think you'll be participating in the Dungeon23 challenge? The idea is presented on a few YouTube channels, but it' basically creating one room of a 12-floor megadungeon per day. by the end, you have a huge complex, outdoor area, or other adventure location with 28-31 'rooms' per level. I think DungeonScrawl would make a good mapping tool, and the entire thing could be added near the City of Arches or one of its portals. Maybe you enter through a portal that's supposed to remain stable for a year due to some planar alignment, but until you explore it, you don't know what world you're on, or if it's even on a world we'd recognize as such. there would be a lot of opportunities for Jaquaysian design!
Excited for the next kickstarter and the City of Arches update. Happy Holidays to you all.
That cover is so sick. Looking forward to backing that project. Also, great news on the updates, all sound exciting.
So Shawn's question about should initiative ever be on something other than that dexterity check. I really like the way Pathfinder 2. Does it where whichever skill is relevant to your current situation governs your initiative check
1 on 1 with the one and only Sly Flourish? Color me intrigued! Happy Holidays to you and yours, Mike! Looking forward to another awesome year ahead. 🍚
Exciting stuff! Happy holidays and wishing all the best for you in the new year!
