Video Preview: Harvest D&D Character Motivations with Campfire Stories
Hello Patron of Sly Flourish!
Here's a preview of an upcoming YouTube video in which I offer the tip of using "campfire stories" to draw information from the players through the eyes of their characters. It's a really simple and powerful way to "focus on the characters".
If the video is marked "private" that means I've queued it up for release on YouTube and it will be back up in a few days.
Thank you again for all of your support!

I really love this. Can't wait to try this in my upcoming sessions.
This is a great idea!
Great tip Mike. I've picked up the idea of tales around the campfire from D&D with Dael Kingsmill on youtube and use that occasionally, but I found that it didn't really get to the character motivations. Sometimes it was used by players to share character backstory, but more often than not it was an opportunity for buffoonery (which was okay, but not really helpful story-wise). I like your idea since it is more directed in terms of what the character is thinking, feeling, or desiring and really doesn't require them to come up with something creative. I'm going to give it a try.
