July 2021 Sly Flourish Patreon Newsletter

Behold the Sly Flourish Patreon-exclusive newsletter for July 2021!

As you've hopefully seen, I've been doubling and tripling down on YouTube videos recently. Thanks to your support here and the growth of our hobby I find myself able to dedicate more time to the Sly Flourish empire and found that this whole new-fangled "YouTube" thing seems to be a good way to reach people!

I've gone from one video a week to four including a whole pile of new short D&D tip videos of 3 to 5 minutes. Those have been very popular, about 5x more popular than the other videos I've done. Seems like a good way to get the word of the Lazy Dungeon Master out to more fans of D&D.

I've also expanded the Sunday morning prep show into a two part show. The first hour is now the Lazy D&D Talk Show in which I chat about the latest news, offer reviews of third party products, or chat about or other D&D-related topics. The second half remains focused on the Lazy D&D Prep show in which I go through steps from Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master to prepare for my game later in the day.

I used to post these shows raw, with no editing. This left a lot of dead space in the video, a lot of "ums", and kept them relatively long. I tried editing them down but it ended up taking about three hours of editing for two hours of video, even when I did it quickly. Then I found a new program called Descript that automatically cuts dead-space and hunts down and kills any "ums" directly. This saves me TONS of time and I can pick up the cost thanks to your support!

The new production schedule is:

• Sunday 9am: Lazy D&D Talk Show live on Twitch

• Sunday 10am: Lazy D&D Prep show live on Twitch

Updates to Uncovered Secrets and Adventure Generators

This month I've added a bunch of new Uncovered Secrets and Adventure Generators. These include:

• Prompts for Secrets and Clues

• Alien World

• Heist Generator

• Stress Effects

• Cult Generator

And don't forget your other Sly Flourish Patreon perks!

• Sly Flourish's Adventure Generators

• Sly Flourish's Uncovered Secrets

• Exclusive Adventure: Regnum Rattus – The Rats in the Cellar

• Exclusive Adventure: Vault of the Dread Syphon

• Exclusive Adventure: Mire's End

• Patron-Exlusive Channel on the Sly Flourish Discord server

We're hard at work on the Lazy DM's Companion, the next Sly Flourish book, which is going to offer all of these uncovered secrets and adventure generators in a nicely designed and edited book to sit alongside your copy of Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master an the Lazy DM's Workbook. I'm hoping to launch the Kickstarter in late Summer or early fall for a release probably next year. It's going to be awesome.

Keep an eye out for more previews to come and thank you again for your support!
