I’m 78 sessions into running a Grendleroot campaign. It’s a WONDERFUL foundation for a 1/2 homebrew campaign. Exactly what I needed. Thanks Mike!
Just a suggestion, but I wonder if it would be possible to include with a book like this, some type of "errata sheet" that would include some instructions on how to convert the monsters & settings to OSR/Shadowdark? Im done with 5e & 5.5e so Im always looking for OSR material. I know 5e is the much larger market, so I expect that is what most creators will publish for, BUT a handful of pages to help me convert it over would sure be a bigger incentive to buy the book! Just a thought. Thanks!
Many of the monsters in Grendleroot can be converted to their Shadowdark versions without much effort. I think Shadowdark would work really well for Grendleroot. For special monsters or ones that don't appear but you still want to whip up stats, consider "Creating and Adapting Monsters for Shadowdark" by Michael Putlack. https://nightnoongames.itch.io/shadowdark-monsters
Seen it. Bought it. Run it. Wore the hat. :-)
Look at your special hat!
