Mission Briefing
You'll be investigating rumors of alien abductions in the X09E sector. One of our agents is on site but contact was lost. Your objectives:
- Meet with the agent
- Return with any information you discover about the aliens
You've been chosen because of your decision making skills. No doubt this mission will require you to make several decisions that will be critical to your success.
Estimated travel time is one week, thus you'll be arriving August 10th. You are leaving now. We'll provide you some reading material to keep you entertained until then. You may ask any questions along the way.

I know we have a food supply of a month, but how much Jilk was I allowed to bring and can I share it with the agent and any others I find in hopes of a good first interaction.

Who is the agent/how do we identify the agent?
The only thing we can tell you about the agent is they have a distinctive verbal style.
Are we on a time limit?
We won't know what limits we'll face until we get there.
are we the same character as in the last story?
No.
Any local assets/connections and/or ship based defenses? Not exactly looking for or expecting full scale war gear, but having a fallback point could be important even if only for recovery, and especially if such tactically capable threats exist and could threaten the ship
The ship can defend itself. If you're in trouble, you'll want to find a way back to your ship.

Should we worry about any rouge sentients or living creatures upon arrival beyond the reported alien species?
No, the wild life we know of in that area are no trouble for amateur travelers, let alone a well trained agent such as yourself.
What information do we have about sector X09E?
Desert like region, moderately unexplored. Warm, frequent storms. Strange energy signals detected.
What are my provisions, equipment,and route for extraction after contact with the agent?
You have a space suit that monitors your vitals and automatically applies pressure to maximize physical performance, an energy pistol, and enough food for a month, and other standard survival supplies. Your own ship will serve as the extraction point, the coordinates which we have already set up for you.
You said we didn't know much, so what do we know?
There are lot of conflicting reports/rumors, it would probably be best to ask specific questions to avoid confusion.
Who is the agent? Description? A way to identify them?
We can't tell you much for their own protection, but the agent has a "unique" verbal style.
I'm bringing a fully loaded backpack, flares, Chaostales Camara drone, ham radio...what's the climate like?
Warm, humid. Frequent thunder/lightning storms.
Can I sit this one out and just watch on a camera drone?
Very funny chaostales, you know you're on the support team and can't afford to slack. But yes you'll be able to watch everything.
What do we know so far about these aliens in question?
We don't know much about them or even if they really exist. But supposing they do exist, they would have to have uncanny teamwork to do what the rumors suggest.
