THE BONE ZONE - super alpha
I've been working on this one tutorial project for over two months now and I'm finally done! It's not much on the surface but there is a lot of code underneath that I actually feel fairly confident about enough that I might use this as a stepping stone for a larger and more involved pre-alpha of the Islander. For those interested, the tutorial I've been following is this Brackeys/Sebastian Lague series.

I've also used the assets offered by Sebastian although I have done enough of the 3d modeling to learn some rudimentary posing and model animation
This is the result - the Bone Zone, a bite of rpg in which you can pick up and equip armor and weapon and you fight a skeleton. You move by left-clicking on terrain and interact with objects and enemies with right click. Camera pan is A-W and zoom is scroll wheel. Inventory is opened with E.
Shortcomings/bugs:
I despise the control system. My first modification will be implementing wasd like a normal fuckin game
picking up objects is a BIT finicky and might take some clicking (especially the warm shirt) and moving away to re-interact. I plan to fix this, also. I spent no less than three weeks on the system and it drove me slightly mad so it's good for now.
dropped objects do not reappear in world. U key unequips everything and puts it in the inventory though!
somehow I managed to set the player stats such that they take no damage when hit. Realized only after building....
I'm not sure why my blendzones are messed up and when wearing the default pants, your ass is hanging out!
there is no end. You'll have to close the window manually.
Just download the attachment and install it on your computer to play! Let me know what you think and what bugs you find!
