Fancy Movie Time #14: The Holy Mountain (1973)

On this episode of Fancy Movie Time with Brian and A.J., the Fancy Lads take a pilgrimage to the top of the surrealist peak of Alejandro Jodorowsky's The Holy Mountain (1973). Do the gorgeous visuals and frenetic pacing make this wild ride a Fancy Feast? Or do its pop-art aesthetic and treatment of child actors make it a Failure to Fancy? One thing's for sure: there will be bull semen. Just so much bull semen.

everytime i see anything about jodorowsky im reminded of the time i watched jodorowskys dune with my brother and the movie being 90% people talking about how cool it would have been, 9% jodorowsky talking about rape, and 1% concept art; ending with my brother reading to me the allegations he found online

Still hoping you guys do The Metabaron Cycle on the main channel. Absolute batshit insane plot juxtaposed against some of the most beautiful panels I have ever seen in comic panels. You see art that is so full of imagination and emotion and the text could be explaining eugenics and torture, a man flying a space craft with his pelvis, or the ultimate negging as a guy burns down a giant tree that is the last of its kind then bringing in a clone or something to horrify then impress his love interest. Just absolutely wild shit. Def a fave

I love the part of "Jodorowsky's Dune" where Moebius says "It's Moebin' time."

I don't remember the bull semen. I remember the old-man tiger-breasts squirting what was presumably breast milk on one of the actors. But I don't remember the bull semen.
