109 - Gone with the Whit (Whit’s Endless Summer 29)
The lads return to Odyssey for more adventures in lawsuits, orthodontics, and, in the first Whit’s Endless Summer three-parter, the Underground Railroad. Topics include the right’s obsession with frivolous lawsuits, the conservative playbook for taking on school boards, and how to teach children about the atrocities of slavery.

Given the team's focus on voice actors, I'm surprised none of the guys mentioned something odd about the Lawyer's vocal performance in "A Victim of Circumstances". About halfway through the episode, just before the Weizel goes into the room of consequences, his vocal performance changes and becomes a lot more-- for lack of a better phrase-- cartoony. To me it sounds like a very different take on the character from how it starts. Has anyone else ever noticed this?
Sorry it's me again, the schoolboard stuff simply enrages me. A local library was defunded in the most recent election cycle and will shut down in a year over the inclusion of queer literature, and it's heinous to see it all purported as a just and Christian fight. My dad is a teacher at a local public school and he's falling hook line and sinker for all the 'they're taking God out of the classroom and giving kids litter boxes' and it's so Brain Numbing yo hear.
Ah, I miss the large metal domino at the zoo playground that reached an internal temperature of 120°F....
Evangelicals love talking about pastors bring abolitionists until John brown gets brought up...
It's wild that the lawyer wouldn't just send a paralegal to go through the torment nexus
The speech about responsibility reminds me of Mankar Cameron at the end of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion making speeches about the coming destruction of the decadent empire and the septim bloodline
I know it was the absolute bare minimum for them to hire black actors for the underground railroad episode, but I am so glad they did, because it would have been even worse if they had not, especially given the show’svhistory of having white actors play other races
Is the website down? I was hoping to get one of those shirts there are no more of.
should be back up again soon
Oh my God, being in a box that gets turned upside down and falls off a vehicle is literally an old Berenstain Bear book. Inside, Outside, Upside Down.
The pastor is obviously a forerunner of Odyssey’s large and prosperous Circassian community, of Rathbone fame
I love how the George Lucas impersonation quickly devolved into Jason Funderburker
America came up with our great private insurance system in part because the government didn't want to pay for the health care of black people and other minorities. Now conservatives are saying we can't have public schools anymore because trans people exist.
The VA for Weasel (or however you spell it) sounds like one of the burgers from the first AiO video tapes to me
THE BIG SLIDE!!!!
AND THE WITCHES HAT!!! 🧙♀️ YESSSS
LMAO I used to live near Redding, my brother went to Enterprise High! Never heard about the kid falling through the skylight, but it totally tracks Shasta County would have two incidents of that in the same year.
I'm so glad you tied the "both sides slaughtered people" rhetoric to the current attempts by Israel to genocide Palestinians again.
