94 - God’s Not Dead (feat. Greg Foster)
Greg Foster (@dadshammdad) from Brigham Young Money challenges Brian and Josh to construct and deliver a classroom rebuttal to the film that launched at least a thousand holy text messages: God’s Not Dead (2014). Topics include the ethics of duck consumption, the parallels between Mormon and evangelical Christian culture, and the status of higher education in the state of Louisiana.

Jesus, man! Blast from the past. I set my college roommate's profile picture to that screenshot when he left himself logged in and he just kept it
My God, they invented a marketing shibboleth
Michael Tate, not to be confused with Andrew
Tait* dammit
Gods Not Dead 3 is just sort of boring but I think the second one is really good too. It depends on how funny you find their childish interpretation of the law and how entertaining you find Ray Wise playing satan in the form of an ACLU lawyer.
ray wise single-handedly makes that movie watchable
Anyway Maggie Mae Fish might be a fun guest: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_IMNYUlJdbmHmuwByBn0Me6mvB1Lhm47
My first thought when you played the audio clip of Kevin Sorbo assaulting Shane Harper: https://archiveofourown.org/tags/Jeffrey%20Radisson*s*Josh%20Wheaton/works (You’re welcome. No I haven’t actually read any of these. Though also any of these would probably be better acted.)
That commercial, especially the line readings, made me feel like I was losing my mind.
SCOTTSDALE MENTIONED!!!!!!!! i fucking hate that city soooo much but i grew up in the area. ive literally been to pinnacle peak itself like 5 times to this shitty little bbq restaurant that closed down a decade ago
This is the third pod I've heard this movie discussed. Evangelicalish find it super triggering and embarrassing since all of them were in the Evangelical community when it came out. Will of 'Micheal and Us' didn't grow up religous and was able to enjoy it as a hilarious look into the reactionary minds of American christians. It's funny to hear people's varied reactions to God's Not Dead based on the amount of religous trama they have and their history with the film
BRIAN HAS A BOO-BOO!
GND (or more specifically stumbling upon a trailer for GND2 that dropped on April 1 and wondering if it was an actual April fool's joke) was my way into a weird bile fascination with evangelical media, so this is like coming full circle. And yeah, after getting to know some more of it to compare with, it and other Pureflix movies are truly the Blighttown tier. I remembered most of the plot and was still taken aback at being reminded of some details. Wonderful discussion. Signed /// I'm cool Voltaire
Wow, that was definitely the very same commercial man from before and I certainly don't have any questions about his identity and it's actually weird that I'm just bringing this up for no reason.
Maybe it's because I'm from the Kendrick Brothers area but I feel this movie had more hype than Passion of the Christ did.
Brian has boobs! (Am I doing this right?)
No!!!
this film is Frozen Elsa Pregnant Colors Superheroes Spiderman Hulk Vs Venom Joker Fidget Spinners Colors but for evangelicals
Did anyone notice what the duck guy did when he corrected her from "you" to "y'all?" He asked her to use his preferred pronouns
His gender neutral pronoun
Do you think baby gronk will prove the existence of god
