that's da challenger
😰It ABSOLUTELY is the Challenger & my god that's fucked up Like... it probably isn't intentional & could even be like a "generic" "spacerocketboom.asset" & they didn't even wonder
The minions' inexplicable popularity with Evan-Xtianity becomes transparent & obvious when one takes account of their unnaturlich anatomy & their propensity towards being agents of doom — bringing about the demise of a portentous sinner. They are the Malak Hamashit; executioner-angels which enact divine wrath on mortals
If your children don't regard Bob Mose as one of the most evil men of the 60s like... you raised them wrong. Pull a mulligan
I appreciated Steve Carrell's performance as Gru a lot more when I realized that he's doing a Viktor Orban impression.
The minions were the polygamous cult that made the O-rings and did the Challenger explosion.
You know, I hated Minions and Despicable Me without ever watching it because of how lazy the storytelling seemed, but the very fact that it made that mommy blogger so upset makes me happy for its existence.
Hey you people might care about this, I've always got strong veggie tales vibes from the Minions. Both there animation and voices remind me of them.(They're like dumb French peas) I mentioned this to my brother and his reaction was something like "What... no... maybe... I don't care." He had the same reaction when I told him I thought there might be a link between the Adidas and puma shoe brands. I might be on to something
There is quality content being created for kids, it just seems to not get as much attention. You should watch "Over the Garden Wall" from around the same time as Minions. Really good art and music for something made for kids
love that show
The mommy blogger's line about the virtue of "turning away" from things that scare or confuse you adds to this maybe reductive, maybe armchair-psych theory I have that so much of evangelical parenting is driven by fear of the inevitable complexity and terror of growing up that the parents remember from their own lives and want to believe isn't inevitable. I feel this too in the conception of Odyssey as an environment, and in the approaches to The Talk described in the Young Man's Battle episode - this sense that parents recall traumas and difficulties of their own childhood and get this idea that they can shield their kids from experiencing the same. Growing up I remember that it was possible, if you really finessed it, to line up perfectly with this painless "maturation" the adults in your life wanted for you - you would be this insufferable ROTC/rotary club dork, and then your entire selfhood would collapse horribly sometime 18-24 because all the shit you're meant to go through during puberty (that the adults remembered hating and thought they could shield you from) would hit all at once.
I was surprised you didn’t mention how Minions are—for obvious reasons—unofficial mascots for the country of Ukraine. And—also for obvious reasons—Ukrainian Minion memes have *completely lost it* this year.
Can't believe that final bit didn't turn out to be another goku bit
"People will know you AJ and you will lose subscribers" Jokes on y'all, listening to AJ defend morally indefensible positions is one of my kinks
Not the challenger explosion
I always love an episode that melts Brian's brain
that shit was not the challenger explosion...
It was the challenger explosion
Would love to hear a miniseries about libdaptations of Carousel, Steinbeck, and things of that nature
You gave up a chance to do more Odyssey, for this?
Amazing lmao
I can't tell if your outrage is serious here. I have seen minions, and it is not good, but it was far too nothing to elicit a serious response from me lol
oh you were serious. oh.
brian watched all the fucking movies?????!???!??
