I realize I'm late, but I wanted to acknowledge that Brian's Agent 47 impression brings me so much joy.
The Pope walks into a mosque on Easter Sunday. The worshippers within are surprised but pleased to see him, wish him a blessed holy day, and ask what prompted his visit. Looking around, the Pope answers "Call-a me crazy, but even after-a Lent, I couldn't-a help-a myself-a when I heard-a you had-a the Ideal Fish here-a today-a." (I'm workshopping it)
is the juxtaposition between Helena X Chester from the interstitial and Walter X Edwin from the 2nd episode intentional?? bravo in any case - the performance from Hollis was heart-wrenching
It was intentional! I'll pass on the compliments to Hollis!
"That's on the short stuff!"
SMBC approved cold open
I listened to Novacom during a time in my development when I had a very tenuous grasp on fiction vs nonfiction, and starting around the veiled death threat to Barry at the end of this episode I began feeling like. REALLY concerned
Also thanks for using In The Heights as your cover art, I love that show and am amused that you made it worse by adding Whit!
Learning in this episode how I was supposed to pronouncing Drive Like Jehu and it took until around the fifth repeat of the joke
Are evangelicals aware of decidedly non-religious post-hardcore band Drive Like Jehu? I would love to know
I love the vibe of Helena Hotspur!“I’ve gone and gotten myself completely blotto” is a thing that I wish people said in real life. I also like Brian saying “Connelsvillah” as though it’s “bourgeoisie”
Is he named Arthur Dent for a reason, or just because Paul McCusker is a teaboo?
The latter
DOWNEY MENTION RAHH 🥰😈💭
Oh God, I remember "You're in the rough."
I think I have listened to every WES episode. Should I suck it up and listen to an actual episode of this bullshit radio show
No 🫶 It is not worth it 🫶
a brief and unexpected "My Mother the Car" interlude is the exact kind of quality content I pay for
I hate how low key attractive I find Brian’s Dobson… 🙃
There are single digits of us!!!!!
Surprised you didn't mention that #473 was the last episode to air (and be recorded I assume?) before 9-11 unless I've just spoiled what the theme of the next episode of Whit's Endless Summer will be.
This episode's isekai and Pope discussions has me dreaming up a manga in which the Propaganda Due Masonic Lodge hires Truck-Kun to assassinate John Paul I. Of course, he only manages to transport the pontiff into a fantasy world beyond his wildest imagination, complete with the sexiest, most scantily-clad warrior nuns and monks. Now if only I could draw...
I had to teach a guy how to properly clean his sex toys to stop giving his wife infections at my clinic this week and all the pocket pussy in this episode just keeps bringing that back up
Yay! I finally got caught up on WES a few weeks ago and I've been experiencing withdraw symptoms without it.
I RISE to the defense of the Palm Pilot! I was a full grown adult with a full grown job and I organized the FUCK out of my work.
I’ve actually listened to Break a Leg recently because I have the Blackgaard brainworms and god they’re so good together. They’re so domestic it makes my teeth ache. Tooth-rotting fluff. I’m the biggest advocate for useless malewives and Edwin is the Most Useless of all time. Icon. He can’t even piss on his own. I love him. And it’s always a delight to have Shakespeare and Cryin’ Bryan Dern in the same episode
Wow, a show in maine huh? I'd love to come down to see it if I could find a ride down from Bangor.
😱😱😱😱😱😱
"Now get me something that isn't made of paper mache" might be the best joke the Odessey writers have ever written
Dropping acid at the focus on the family vice presidential retreat
That line delivery of "That's why the Taquitos was HAM!" was fantastic in the interstitial
The line and delivery are just PERFECT So damn funny and it caught me totally by surprise
Is the NovaCom story line based on the Battletech ComStar storyline? They feel similar but i'm vague remembering one and learning about the other
That would be kinda interesting, but I have my doubts about anyone at FOTF even knowing what Battletech is. Much less allowing it into AiO.
Jen and James of Fundie Fridays would be the perfect guests for Whit’s endless summer
Oh yes! I love their channel and don’t know if they’ve ever watched Adventures in Odyssey but they would get a kick out of it! They might even be good at doing voices in an interstitial!
