🏖️Summer Time in the Parafolks’ Wardrobe!
Hello everyone, Léa here reporting live from the Paralives studio!
Here in Montréal, we had a few very intense heat waves so it was very fitting to add summer-oriented content to the game.
🌊 Pools are not ready yet, but enjoy this little patio set up with our new swimsuit and bikini!
Here is a closer look and some different combinations
In Québec, summer is also the moving season! Everyone is busy packing and carrying boxes in comfy clothes. It was time to add the ultimate moving day apparel: the Jeans Overalls!
Just like Maggie’s skirt overalls, you can combine them with different tops to create various looks. Maybe we should add a variation with some paint stains all over, what do you think?
What also happens during Summer? Festivals of course! In that mindset, Sonia created our new collection of eyeshadows. Get ready to party all night long!
All those eyeshadows above can be combined to help you create customizable and unique looks. Change each layer's color and opacity to build your dream look!

The more I see how Paralives is designed, the more I see that this is very well thought out 🐕🐾
I love the idea of combined eyeshadows, the possibilities are endless!
Overall I like what I'm seeing and enjoy the style. I do agree that some of the lines are a little too pronounced, though. The shoulder blades and knees are where I noticed that. I also have some reservations about how the breasts are portrayed in this art style. It seems that the default detailing to indicate breasts is the sort of y-shaped lines/shading in the center of the chest. This is an effective and often used visual shorthand to show cleavage, indicating that the breasts are being shoved together. However, most people do not achieve that without bras specifically intended to. (As a note to bra wearers of all sizes, if a bra creates that sort of "butt cleavage" and it's not a) a sports bra or b) a bra designed to do exactly that, it's very likely that it is an ill-fitting bra in the wrong size or shape.) I can understand why you made this artistic choice. Honestly, most people probably wouldn't notice it on larger chested paras, but it begins to look more out of place as the chest gets smaller. The redhaired para in the first picture is an example of that. It jumped out at me even on Maggie because I am familiar with bra fitting. I know this is a sensitive subject and I don't want to make things weird. But I know you want to honestly portray different body types and right now this mostly portrays the "ideal" underwear model in a push-up bra type. You can, of course, do whatever you want with your art, but I wanted to offer this feedback. (Sorry I'm so longwinded)
Oh yeah, for sure. But isn't the point of providing feedback to point out the things we'd like to see them improve? I know it might've seemed like I was harping on it because I wrote a lot, but I just wanted to explain what I meant. And I suck at doing that in a short manner.
I'm stoked. The layering of the eye shadow is genius! And I simply love the fact that there are lines and details like cleavage on these bodies. The definition of said lines can be changed by a slider if the artist (or a modder) sees fit to do so. Great job guys 💕
The details of the skin are not pleasant to look at, especially at the level of the back

I love the aesthetics of this game but the shoulders and arms are too close to the chest, it's very strange. I hope you could fix this. THANKS <3

absolutely gorgeous! i agree with the others when it comes to the skin details, would love to see some adjustments there. besides that - everything is looking so damn good ☀️ i especially love the looks of Maggie's hat and her drink & sandwiches! one thing is would really, really appreciate is seeing some of the new assets on different body frames, shapes, sizes. how does the bikini top look on paras who are flat-chested, fat, have much bigger breasts, or broad shoulders? how do the bottoms look on a para who doesn't have a visible thigh gap, on someone with really wide hips or a big, round belly? as a fat, trans, nonbinary person, i am super invested in the flexibility and diversity of bodies and styles in Paralives, and seeing you show those off would be extremely appreciated <3
The eyeshadow is bomb, it’s giving Para baddie 💅🏽! Lol The swimwear is cute, I’m never disappointed with the clothes the teams makes. My only constructive criticism is the skin details are a little too harsh, especially on the back. The shoulder blades aren’t normally that defined and pronounced. Other than there’s nothing else & I think the team is doing great so far.
Agree the body detail is maybe giving a different impression than intended, I thought because of the pink blush shading and the lines like wrinkles, Maggie's knees in 1st pic look like burn scars. The body detail may be too highly defined? In contrast with blank swathes of skin it seems a little off balance. I love love love the outfits and make up! Fantastic work guys.
I'm in love with the way you guys handled the eyeshadow. I don't have to worry about finding the right style I can just make it myself now! Excited to see an in depth para make up tutorial in the future 💅💄👠
Loved the swimsuits! But I must say again, way too many lines on the body, specially knees, shoulders, shoulder blades, abdomen, neck etc. The faces look great and I really liked the make up!
the eyeshadows though! look absolutely amazing!
The only thing I don’t like about the Para look is the lines make the skin look wrinkly

I have a design question about the bikini top. Is the tie on the back a flat layer or would it have its own dimensions if viewed from the side?
Oh wow. It all looks so excellent! The swim suit. I love it!!! 🥹 Would be fun with a see through scarf or just a scary you tie around your waist too. 😍 And for when you guys are building the swimming pool, it would be so fun it there was some curved options too. Not just a box. 😍
Everything looks great as always. I think some details on Maggie upper back look a bit harsh (on the purple top swimsuit picture). Would you consider making swim shirt and more covering swimsuit ?

ooooo I love this. I hope in the future the dev team or modders would be able to add options for vertical stripes. My 15 year old said they would love non-binary themed eye shadow. And they are extremely excited about the possibilities of playing with each layer's opacity and unique combinations. They asked me to also buy them this game when it comes out so this post alone has gained an extra customer.

The makeup is so vibrant and pretty! And I really appreciate the swim shorts style for female paras, I don't feel comfortable in bikinis and like swimsuits that have bottoms in the style of shorts cause it's more comfortable for me, so seeing that designed for a feminine frame means a lot to me, thanks for making cool stuff team :)

The shorts option is already a good step in the direction of varied modesty. Would be cool to see one with a built-in skirt too.
...We have moving boxes assets in the game, to match the overalls ^_^; I love the potential of including moving as gameplay mechanics (the boxes you have to manage, the stuff you have to open right away but can't find, the boxes that um stay unpacked for way too long... XD ). But it's a lot to ask, so... I'm pretty happy that we have them as decorative items, if nothing else. Quick question about the stains : would it be too complicated at this stage to create a layer of stains/dust/etc. that works the same way tattoos do ? In that you could just decide of their placement and size ? That would save us from creating so many additional assets for each dirty item of clothing we want.
Creating layers of stains or dust on clothes like the tattoo system is not something we have planned for now but could be a cool feature to think about in the future! We're really happy that you're liking the overalls & moving boxes 😊
I'm loving how vibrant and customizable the makeup looks!!! Pam is the part I'm most excited to play with, so seeing all the different options and how cute these outfits are makes me so ready to make parafolks of my own! Thank you for taking the time to show these!!! (*´ω｀*)

Wow this is so exciting! Thank you so much for sharing, Léa! I'm really really happy about the Paras' skin texture in bathing suits. Maggie looks like a real person and not a smooth doll and she's beautiful and I love her! I hope there will be some eyeshadow presets too lol I love the customization ability but I'm bad at makeup :D
Oh yeah! That would be nice! And that we maybe can make our own presets too. 😍
The red bikini bottom isn't the right choice for the para, I'm afraid - it makes her lower part look "blocky". A bit more fabric would have helped.
I actually love her in it! She's not a perfectly round and smooth hipped Para, this is the shape she is and that's the bathing suit she likes and I think she looks great!
